Why is this noisy minority so toxic?

i wouldnt say it is a minority of players

At the end of the day white knights always win over haters. White knights are defending what they enjoy. So by definition they are happy. Haters are hating on what makes them unhappy and by definition are unhappy. Happy > unhappy. Happiness is the only metric that matters in life. GG.

You need to go away, why u still here and post bs … dude go away that it

But touch grass does mean something. It means get back in touch with reality.

I asked him if he calling me a no lifers telling other to touch grass or if his example was neutral hypothetical situation. Depending on tone it could be either. You don’t get tone via text format so I asked. So no. It’s no obvious.

He responded to me telling no lifers to touch grass. BTW.

Edit: Actually it doesn’t matter. That was between me and him. Most likely a misunderstanding of some sort. Continuing it at this point is fruitless.

The “summer hole” - not much to do, vacation thanks to work/school/weather/…, many people are not traveling, it is normal to play a lot these days, some are racing to level their chars before Blizzard patches “fast ways to level”, … (many players started with endgame content after about 1 week - and Blizzard would have needed time to patch)

They even started to ask for addons/dlcs/… because they need more content.

Some problems needed the several 100,000s hours of time players put into the game - not the 100(0)s of hours testers had.

They believe they are a majority because 50-ish replies (in a thread) is so much. (They are most likely not even 0.1% of all players.)

And they complain in meta threads because they are frustrated. (“So many bugs, so many threads, the game is so bad.”) [the threshold for frustration is low in so many people?]

People these days believe that “problems get fixed faster when you cry louder” - so they act as if they are “dying” if a quest does not work / a boss is hard to kill / …

They complain about anything:

  • Uniques don’t fit in their build → “uniques s*ck!”
  • Loot sucks! - Well, the only problem I have is shredding the garbage fast enough while keeping the good things.
  • they got a wrong value from some site / they miscalculated → so Blizzard must be wrong because e.g. their build is not working now
  • they use an iGPU to play games with higher specs → "Blizzard fix that my game crashes when the GPU gets to warm or whatever
  • “my HC char died thanks to a bug” → yeah, basically the first month after release - who would have guessed that this might happen with so many HC players?
  • …

And Blizzard is not answering (most of the time) and players who don’t have the problem won’t answer while the complains pile up (slowly).

And so on.

Instead of enjoying the game or playing something else until D4 is more stable/has more content they enjoy complaining.
So they f*** up each other’s experience and this accelerates with more players reaching unfinished parts and reading the forum. (It would be best to not read that much in here if you expect games to be perfect from the start.)

“campaign alone is worth 70$”
“the story is bad”
The cognitive dissonance I am getting from the OP’s post is blowing my mind.

People have different expectations from AAA studios and indie Steam games, it’s not complicated.

A sandwich can taste good and be worth its price despite its dry lettuce.
The time invested in the campaign and its content are worth the price despite its problems, there is absolutely no contradiction in this statement.
Mister two-digit I.Q.

The story of the campaign is the entire sandwich. You’re telling me a movie with a terrible story is worth paying full price and buying the popcorn because of the sound design and costume department.

Let’s say I ordered a sandwich without pickles, and in the last bite of this sandwich I ate a piece of pickle that I thought was horrible… this last bite is equivalent to how blizzard discarded Inarius and Lilith, the rest of the sandwich (90 %) was good.

That’s even more sad, you never should have clarified your original post. At least we could have kept the assumption that you had good enough taste to see that the story was garbage. If you think the rest of it is good aside from just those two characters I don’t know what to say. Sorry I wasted your time, but I guess you have a lot of that since you are working towards 50 posts in one thread lol.

Yes, considering that time is a merit and not a demerit I am satisfied with myself and the game.
Not having time is a failure of the basic precepts of life.

The game is trash, still got 70$ out of it though.

Sometimes I buy 70$ worth of food, it’s cheap and crappy tasting, but I eat it.

Maybe they will change it though!!! I’ll stay hopeful because of my low IQ and addiction issues.

Forums- Game is terrible.

Shills- GASP! “Liars!”

It’s a vocal group, but that doesn’t mean it’s the majority. You claim that “no one like PVP” is patently false. You could say it needs work, or that it’s currently in a bad spot, but saying “no one” likes it just shows that you’re biased against the game. That’s cool though, if you don’t like it then be like a normal person and go play something else. We won’t miss you.

Last Epochs new first chapter is nice rest is junk compared to D4. Not that LE wont get better but it is no way better than D4 at this moment

And yet you have 467 posts in the d4 forums. If you don’t like the game then go play POE. I play POE a lot, it’s a great game, but it’s also been polished for over a decade, I’m not sure why the D4’s inability to surpass the complexity and depth of POE on launch day justifies your ire.

You are a spec in the 10 million that bought last night PC alone estimations were 2.8 mill peeps on PC alone. Other than some MMOS those are amazing numbers.

The forums represent a minority of players… however due to facts about negative reviews… people who have a negative experience tend to tell more people…

the forums, for the most part, are just an echo chamber for those negative nancys

I think it’s a little more complicated than that. Of course it’s all just personal preference, but D4 has better aesthetics and polish, while LE has better game systems. What one finds more fun depends on the person.
