why is this game such an antisocial game
Because it’s an ARPG, not an MMO. Stop pretending it’s a social game.
So why are there other people in the over world then if it’s not a social game?
This is not World of Diablo, its not an MMO, its a single player game that allows for small groups to cooperate.
So what’s the point of Helltides being so massive?
You can easily solo Helltides. You can probably solo World Bosses given enough gear.
This is a shared world game with a trade chat and local chat, if it was a single player only game, there would not be mini chat rooms attached.
Is Diablo 3 considered World of Diablo? No, but there’s still a general chat. If you take a game like Diablo 3 with barely any “mmo” additions to it, and then you compare it to D4 which they have stated, they’re adding “more mmo” aspects to it, you could see how one would infer it would at least have the same social aspect but amplified on the new game.
It would be nice to have some sort of a general chat for if you have questions but I supposed that could be handled via clan chat.
Then socialize with them… I did, got some new friends to play with. It’s not this game that is antosocial, it’s some of you and that’s fine.
If it is not a social game then explain why I have the ability to talk?
Being an ARPG does not preclude it from having social tools. Being able to find like minded people in the game to share the experience should be welcomed. I understand that most people are playing it like a solo game, which is fine. I do, mostly. However, sometimes I would like to group up with people to share the fun. Thankfully clans exist, but granting more tools (like an opt-in LFG tool) should be added - doesn’t hurt you directly; aids the games longevity.
You can solo world boss on any class with average or even subpar WT 4 gear. Thing is I never seen case where there wasn’t multiple people already in there. It’s great to place to socialize if someone wants actually.
You’re missing the point, I know you can solo, but from a design point of view why bother making the event so massive covering so many maps?
Then why put clans, why we doing world bosses together with random people , why can we trade. they just didnt add anything to make it a better experience . even D3 had it better
The best part about the copium?
Blizzard constantly talked about how this game would revolve heavily around a “shared world MMO experience”.
They need to add global chat channels.
Same reason you see people in lobby games. Doesn’t mean it’s a social game.
Just because I don’t like you doesn’t mean we can’t be friends.
Major/popular games companies do not make a great social design as most people under 25 or people who are highly influenced, that are both glued to the internet are not “social” by deisgn.
They make very simple gestures, replies, comments, statements or insults and ofc as everyone knows, insults or “toxicity” is bad public image, especially if your game is strictly online play only.
Blizzard have emotes, a working chat box and a working guild system, so I don’t really see an issue.
Because it’s an online game, almost all online games have SOME ability to talk, but very few use it safe for trolls, bots, and kiddos.
That’s what clans are for. Check the forum sections, lots of stuff there if you wanna shoehorn social stuff to a game that it’s not really designed for.
Potentially false. LFG tools are only really good when party comp is needed. 0 party is needed for any feature of the game, save a couple challenges.
Because they wanted to waste resources and port over an also unused feature from D3.
Because we aren’t allowed to turn off world sharing. WBs are soloable.
You can’t trade anything of value. Legendary and Unique are account bound, and the only people that want full trading are either RTM shills, or ignorant.
Very few things, yes, after years of changes. Launch D3 was nothing like current D3.
These are not mutually exclusive.
So why is it an always online game where we see others running around?
