Not even simple/old-school a LFG chat channel or posting board. Will these be in at launch? This is very strange to not have such features in a 2023 game launch.

Nah not going to some whack discord to find a group. This is an mmo. Do you massive mulitplayer online. This game fits that genre easily.

Diablo 3 had grouping features and wasn’t a MMO? Same with Destiny? Same with Overwatch? D4 already has a trade channel, why no LFG channel?

Good luck playing with the random people you meet in game I guess.
Other than the handful of players in the open world and the world bosses, almost everything about it was in past games.
D3 had this though? Weird.

You mean the several people you meet in town and around the area? That’s the online matchmaking.

I think it’s mostly just people reading too much into it. MMO applies to so many games nowadays that it’s hard to actually define a game from the MMO genre. They’ve said they aren’t trying to make the game an MMO and I don’t think the game is designed for true MMO. I would drop the game immediately if they made a forever grind like Lost Ark.
Not very good online matchmaking. There are never more than 12 players on a given server shard, and most of them probably aren’t looking for a group.
There needs to be something to find a group among the thousands that are playing at any given time.
As I said an LFG chat would be a good addition.
Then there are many discords and forums where you can join or join clans and can play with them.

Sometimes it’s just fun to play in a group. And as things stand now, it’s pretty hard to make that happen with randoms.
Agree that the game can be (and should be) playable in its entirety without a group. But for those who want to group up with randoms sometimes, it would be nice if there were tools to help with this.
Yes. If someone is on your friends list or in your clan, it’s quite easy to form a group with them. You can even do that right now for free during the server slam.
