Hey, it seems like the 3 classes which were playable had the skill tree found in the lothriks build calculator. What striked me as a suprise was that the necromancer was the only class without a mobility skill, a damage reducing cooldown or a unstoppable granting ability.
Here’s a breakdown the differences of the classes
Mobility.
Barbarian: Charge, Leap, Lunging Strike
Druid: Trample
Rogue: Shadow Step, Dash
Sorcerer: Teleport
Necromancer: None
Defensive Cooldown.
Barbarian: Iron Skin, Challenging Shout
Druid: Earthen Bulwark, Debilitating Roar
Rogue: Dark Shroud
Sorcerer: Ice Armor, Flame Shield
Necromancer: Blood Mist
While necromancers do have Blood Mist, I’d love to see a % DR active skill like bone armour.
Unstoppable.
Barbarian: Charge, Rallying Cry (skill upgrade), Iron Skin (Codex)
Druid: Earthen Bulwark (skill upgrade), Trample, Grizzly Rage (skill upgrade)
Rogue: Concealment, Shadow Step
Sorcerer: Teleport, Ice Armor (codex)
Necromancer: None
It could be said that it’s a desing choise where classes have strengths and weaknesess but in this case it’s literally only 1 class that is affected by these choises. Also this isn’t a tuning issue which could be solved through numbers, this is fundemental issue within the classes toolkit.
This greatly affects the enjoyment of the fun aspect. Imagine being chain stunned after getting stunned for the first time and there’s nothing you can do about it. It seems like the necromancers toolkit wasn’t created for diablo 4 since part of the smooth combat experience comes from you able to dodge attacks, remove CC and
mitigate incoming damage.
In the beta I remember playing with a barbarian which gained the leap and charge little later, than the other available classes. Which meant that my friends had to wait for me during the story line and dungeons since I couldn’t keep up while we were traversing after combat. Now imagine necromancer which doesn’t even have
the option for a mobility skill, slugging in dungeons and keeping others waiting.
Did you encounter these issues in the closed endgame beta and did you report them? have hard time believing that people are okay with a class having not access to the same toolkits that the others. That’s just not balanced.
