Why is nobody looking into the fenris memory/unexpected error crashes?

I posted to the technical support board already, but it seems no one cares. Multiple replies of others having the same issue, so it is not just me. Can someone on the development team please let us know they are at least looking into it!

The CM’s are the only ones who talk on here, and they just convey the information over to the devs mind you. Regardless they rarely speak on technical issues, except for the latest Nvidia problem.

Just curious have you tried the normal fixes?

Changing the Nvidia PhysX Configuration:
Open Nvidia Control Panel > Configure Surround, PhysX
Change the Processor from |Auto-Select (recommended)| to your actual Video Card
Make sure to hit Apply at the bottom

Change Refresh Rate or Resolution
Not known to work all the time, some claim it just delays the error instead.

Change Peripheral Lighting under the Graphics settings
Again may or may not work

Disable Focus Assist
Go to your start menu in windows type Focus Assist and make sure that’s set to OFF. Also make sure to turn off the options in the Automatic Rules section.

Turn off Overclocking
Doubtful many have this issue, but doesn’t hurt to check to make sure you aren’t using a program or tweaked your bios to overclock your system.

Check for Windows / Driver updates as well.

All this being said, Blizzard is currently waiting on Nvidia to come out with their part behind the current issues with the Nvidia problems higher cards are having. All we can do is wait.

I had the “Data Retrieval Error” from when S4 started. I wasn’t truely able to play the game until last Friday.

Basically, what that meant for me, was that while playing, a box would pop up and say

“Data Retrieval Error
Diablo IV was unable to retrieve necessary data. Please check your network connection.”

Then when you clicked the OK button, it would drop straight to desktop… no other error codes would come up. Now, this bug would happen randomly, I could play 5min, 30min or 1hr but once I got that pop up box, I was done for the day, since it would pop up usually straight away when trying to re-launch the game. Incredibly annoying.

I tried everything… uninstalling and doing fresh install of GPU drivers, latest and rollbacks ones… scan and repair files… even did a complete uninstall and reinstall of Diablo 4 and the problem was still there.

Now, whatever was in that Hotfix patch last Thursday seems to have cured the problem for now, as I haven’t had this bug since. IMO this bug mainly affects nvidia GPU’s

Ryzen 5600g, 32gb DDR4 Ram, 3060Ti Nvidia GPU. D4 sits on a 1TB nvme drive.
