Are there many players pushing solo NMD 100+ without following build guides?
Benchmark for what?
20 chars
well, they made a new end game mode and suggest that players able to do nmd 100+ should play this mode.
seems strange since I doubt anyone not following a full min/max guide is capable of doing this solo.
I’m just curious how off base I am with that assumption.
I’d say define min/max here…
A LOT of builds can clear NMD100 in season 2 due to the seasonal powers currently. Yes, you need to either take a lot of time on glyphs to “max” them or follow someone who has done that work for you. So if you’re saying builds need to be closer to max then yes. Characters though… not really. You don’t need one of your best builds to clear NMD100
Gearing wise… you can gear pretty close to max without a build guide now. Previously, you had to have some understanding on how D4’s formula worked and could go down an incorrect rabbit hole in theory. Post s2 with the damage bucket changes I feel like the system is relatively easy to understand overall.
Hello, here i am. There is only so much variance in what you can build that you eventually pivot to the same setup as guides.
Hmmm don’t follow you here.
Taking my own example (sample of 1, I know), I DID follow a build for my first char when joining the game. Not totally on purpose, but after watching a video of a guy who was playing BS necro (I was full summoning
), thinking to myself “wow this looks cool” and pausing the vid when he was showing his paragon etc
I pushed that one to level 100, NMD, Duriel etc etc
Made a few rerolls to 45-70 just testing classes
Then rerolled a sorc, full charged bolt off-meta thing as a souvenir of preVious Diablos (loved to blast at the door of a room and hear stuff die from a far
) No guide at all (don’t think there are any/many) but I DID collect stuff with my necro (and experience) so I had a much easier time. Went through NMD100’s with relative ease (occasional death) and lvl 5 of AoZ (8 with necro) where I’m now walled in
The benchmark of T1 is NM 100 or T1 is NM 104 (depends on which Blizzard announcement you based it) is not correct .
I have come to the conclusion that it’s not even close to NM 100.
It’s probably harder than NM 104 too if we just compare NM 90 vs NM 94. The extra 4 levels isn’t a big deal with Nightmare Dungeons if you are already blasting the 4 levels below it.
NM 100 should be a minimum requirement to even try T1. To have the highest chance with T1, you need to run NM 100
- Multiple times to test your build with random affixes and monsters
- Don’t nitpick sigils. Specifically play with those Armor Breakers, 40-60% dmg penalty, and Shadow DoT bug
- Don’t use potions
- Don’t use meta. If you are using meta and still failing T1 multiple times, well, there’s no hope for you as a player
So the challenge above is not your typical NM 100. It’s harder.
If you can do that, you will have higher success in T1.
Supposedly it is changing today.
I dont know how much a nerf it will get, but supposedly it is getting nerfed a bit.
20% monster damage is incredibly significant. I would imagine T1 would play like nm 70 after the patch.
Its such a shame.
depends on what build u are playing
if u are lucky like me and randomly pick one of the most overpowerd ones u dont need to follow a build guide and still can easily clear it
