You are playing a different game i guess.
the primes and lesser evils are currently at less than half their normal power because they all just got done re-materializing after getting vanquished.
Finally a sane person, this is the worst 1v1 of all time, such a joke⌠lilith literally broke his spear in the first swing ROLFMAO
(his personality is even worse than this garbage fight)
Inarius was exiled (and we know he was tormented by Meph for long while) and his only hope was returning to the heavens.
When he faced reality (due to lilithâs words) it crushed his world & she took advantage of that.
imho they still cared for eachother. (why he only banished her and why she let him stab her)
the question by lilith about âwhat about our son?â (rathma who she loved) and way he said âit was worth it to return to heavenâ was likely when she no longer cared as he saw her son as nothing.
basically he cut the last connection they had.
My interpretation of that is heâs so mentally broken and so self righteous he never even thought of the fact the Light had turned on him. He expected immediate praise and glory.
But yeah, shouldâve gone for the head (heart)âŚ
Inarius âwinsâ the straight up fight. Narratively speaking, he thinks Lilith is dead, even if it presented poorly to the audience. The scene is supposed to be between two near equal powers, with a sudden upset when one side thinks it has won. If Inarius had been a little more thorough he couldâve ripped off Lilithâs head. He wasnât so he got shanked from behind.
The answer is not deep or canon related, sheâs just the main villain in the story so if she fell over like a wet noodle it would be boring. Sheâs THE mascot for D4.
part 1 anyways.
already confirmed they have 2 planned expansions. (which will have different mascot enemies)
Iâm guessing Mephisto in the first expansion and Diablo in the second.
Inarius stands there for a good three or so seconds as Lilith speaks to him after he turns around without doing anything. I think itâs just a poorly executed scene. They probably intended to make it seem like he was convinced he won, but yeah, I just donât think they did a good job with that.
They just needed to add a few seconds where Lilith pretended to play dead to make those few seconds of conversation seem like âdying wordsâ convincingly. A slight reworking of the scene wouldâve made it much better.
Thought the same thing. Saying because her dad is stronger is a bad argument. Andariel and Duriel both had a stronger dad than Meph. But im sure there will be some random justification on how that is different.
In then end its probably just an oversight or bad logic that is used to move a story in the direction they wanted. Not all story and world building is A+ and OP prob wont get a satisfactory answer.
Oh weâre gonna fight every major demon, angel and new ones they makeup just to make content and sell expansions. :~) live service yay!
Good genes.
/10chars
For narrative purposes. They needed her to be to allow her to accomplish what she needs to to push the campaigns story. The claim that she slaughtered all rebel angels and demons herself is laughable.
!!! Spoiler !!!
Donât think she is overly strong, you just fight her twice. Once in her mortal form and once in her hell form.
considering she created a whole planet after getting freaky with an angel i would think its safe to say she is more powerful than a âlesserâ evil⌠lolâŚ
My two cents:
I feel like Lilith is on par with the lesser evils. Only through the events of the story did she get a slight edge over the lessers. Lilith is a great manipulator so itâs not far-fetched to assume that Andariel and Duriel were persuaded to help Lilith, in the same way she persuaded Astaroth to grant her safe passage across his domain.
(Although by all accounts I believe Lilith is much stronger than Astaroth)
As to Lilithâs power, That I believe is the reason she wanted to absorb Mephistoâs essence, He couldnât fight back against her in his weakened state and Lilith knew she didnât have the raw power she needed to take over. That would effectively put her power above Diablo and Baal if she had managed to absorb Mephisto. Since Diablo and Baal are also in a weakened state, she could easily absorb the other two. Well, not even the combined effort of the other 4 lesser evils would ever stand in her way if sheâd managed to absorb the 3 primes.
Really at this point, the little hints we have about demonic power scaling in regards to Lilith is practically non-existent so, all of this is merely speculation.
Also, Donât bother responding, I donât care what anyone thinks because, itâs VERY clear that my post is simply theories and guesses that I observed after completing the game itâs by no means truth or fact. Iâm simply not going to argue with immature folks.
The hard fact is we all donât know for sure, the details of Lilithâs true power, so arguing is a pointless waste of energy.
Roflmao âTOO MANY BLACK CHARACTERS THEY WENT WOKE!! REEE!â Seriously? Thatâs your trigger now? Black characters?
So read what I could here, some thoughts:
Itâs established the prime evils had taken such a beating throughout the events of Diablo 1 through 3 that they are now effectively bed-ridden and unable to defend themselves, so they at âbestâ can manipulate events indirectly. Like Mephisto has a tiny bit of his essence in the form of his bloodied wolf, but even then heâs vulnerable and he knows it, and knows Lilith knows it.
Lilith is no pushover likewise, sheâs STILL the daughter of a PRIME EVIL. The whole reason everyone feared her taking Mephistos essence was because then sheâd be even more overpowered than ever before. She has limits and is well aware of it. As for her actions, honestly put yourself in her shoes, they make sense. Most the decisions are not the ideal decisions but the only ones that are truely present.
Inarius was a pushover to Lilith because he was a narcissist, and she took full advantage of his one true desire that even he knows cannot be satisfied and in full denial of; he was never getting back into heaven. In fact I think Inarius was more evil than Lilith, I mean he would have wiped out the entirety of sanctuary(in fact, Cathedral of Light even implies he will in their prophecy). But he was pathetic and easily manipulated due in part of his vanity, she shattered it and reduced him to panic, and before the narcissistic rage kicked in she back-stabbed him and killed him.
On mary sue accusations I saw here.
Some people call some characters in this game mary sues, they(the characters in question) arenât explored enough IMO to be that, Nayrelle is probably the closest, she probably wonât survive though and honestly, she wasnât explored enough(her learning the horadrum code was to quick however). She was also insecure about losing her arm, and its a scar that didnât seem to be put in there to make her cooler. And she worries she isnât good enough. But again, she isnât explored that much.
Vigo I felt the same way, but he had his vulnerabilities, and so I cannot really call him a sue. He may have saved you in the end but that doesnât make him a marty stu. Again, not explored quite enough though.
PravaâŚthoughâŚhere goesâŚsheâs not meant to be liked, but sheâs a good villain actually once you know how cults work.
Prava was just as evil as Inarius and you have to remember that the cathedral of light is a blind cult. The closest to sue you get is her unflinching tolerance to pain and the plot armor she had so she could declare you and Lorath heritics for saving the day. But the world isnât accomodating her, instead sheâs a cult leader. Cult members are effectively mindless, programmed robots; they follow the leader regardless of how stupid the leader is once they are brainwashed, even things they would disagree with they go with ANYWAYS BECAUSE THEY ARE UNDER COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE CULT LEADER.
And sadly, most of the Cathedral of Light are cultists following her. Iosif coming to kill you makes perfect sense; heâs part of that cult, even if he knows your a good guy, heâs on orders to kill you, and because heâs programmed to obey no matter what, he tries to do so. No matter how much inside he doesnât want to, he has to. Because through his indoctrination he would have been sapped of free will, told what to think(thought control), what to feel(emotional control), what to believe(intellectual control) and what to do at all times(behavioral control), per the BITE model(Behavioral, Intellectual, Thought, Emotional control). Itâs 100% likely the case for every single CoL soldier you end up having to kill after the main story(makes me feel bad actually).
But want a real mary sue? Sorry but, Nephelim, 100% mary sue. Everyone worships them and they are chosen ones, the world effectively changes for them and accommodates them. In the end, Tyreal is so worshipping of the nephelim that I was cringing the entire time, it was completely off-putting, and they were mostly cocky-one liners. Not once did I feel the nephelim could lose or faulter.
The nephelim is never vulnerable, ever, at ANY point in diablo 3. They even catch onto Belials deceptions without any difficulty and then the remaining antagonists in the main game turn especially stupid to accomodate the nephelim, telling you every step of there plan the entire step of the way. And Malthael, well, once heâs defeated your given such insane godlike worship itâs just cringe. Thats whether anyone thinks about it or not, why diablo 3âs story is considered to bad; your own character is a sue, whether you realize it or not. Its cringe because your own character is way, way to cheesy. Nothing but numbers, no personality, no vulnerabilities(emotional or decision wise), worshipped by everyone in game.
