requesting general chat and maybe a new player help chat. is 149 the cap for clans? why do they even show up in search when you click join a clan if full??? wtfwtf
Because only chat is local. There is 12 people on a server and your local region might have 5 or 6 at any given time.
But no idea why people want this. Global and trade chat in diablo has always been nothing but bots and trolls.
Its just off-putting that its forced multiplayer but no way to actually talk or interact with those other people.
I’d take a dungeon lobby/matchmaking system over global chat myself, but both should have been obvious features.
Right now the group scaling of mobs is WAY to severe for random matchmaking. Be like WoW when they first introduced it to the game be all scrubs in the matchmaking and no one could clear anything.
You are not going to see a lot of grouping at all except friends till they give more bonus to being in group(5 percent is a joke), And lower that scaling some.
Define forced multi-player cause your use sounds disingenuous.
I’m also going to add that don’t hesitate to send messages to randoms that you meet through the open world. Personally, I come from playing mostly/only single player games, so I dont tend to talk or invite others to party, but I’m always happy to get random invites to party, run dungeons and stuff. you might have lots of players in the same situation, players who would otherwise play in single player mode by default, but arent against socialising/enjoy it.
…? The game is online multiplayer. You go out into the world and you are on a public server with other people around. I am fine with this, but what’s the point if you can’t even talk to them?
To give you sense of immersion that there are other adventurers running around and occasionally doing chance encounter group activities with them such as public events or world bosses.
Forced multi-player makes it sounds like the game requires you to group up to progress or succeed.
Isn´t it 10% if you play with someone else?
The only people I’ve seen using local or trade chat are people advertising gold and item selling websites.
I’ve seen some people talking and/or communicating through emotes and also get party invites at world bosses and legion events. I suspect the lack of deeper communication is because there isn’t really a need to communicate. World bosses are pushovers and get rolled over, and legion events are the same. You don’t need voice chat or any meaningful communication at all to complete these events.
It doesn’t at all, unless you are a serial contrarian just looking to argue with people. I said forced multiplayer, not forced grouping. Multiplayer online is the only game option, there is no solo or offline mode, hence it is a forced multiplayer game. Stop arguing nonsense.
10% is 3ppl or more.
Why dont you relax there champ. Think the term you are looking fornis forced online.
Or you are just wrong. Its a forced multiplayer game. When you enter the game you are in a multiplayer instance and there is no way to change that.
Again, I don’t want to change that. I just want the game to provide appropriate tools to interact and play with those other people… otherwise why not just go back to having it be optional.
Poorly integrated chat and clan system is because this game is primarily intended for console players. The devs are all console players - they don’t even see it from the eyes of a PC gamer.
If you think that, then you’ve never experienced the D3 community chats. Plenty of helpful folk, grouping, funny banter, etc…
Are you so dense that in your brain this is the only way to create grouping?
This game is forced online, forced multiplayer, forced MMO-lite open world. All poorly integrated.
Can you even name another MMO-lite game that doesn’t have chat integrated properly? Like, even the lowest rated indie games have proper chat.
Because Blizzard thought it was wise to not have any global chat in a MMOARPG.
I try to chat with people but most people don’t talk back.
Idk maybe console players can’t use text chat. I’ve considered turning off crossplay because of it tbh.
It’s fun to chat with random gamer bros sometimes.
They cant handle a silence in conversation.
I like chasing people around town saying " A person! Hi Person!!!" out in the world I have had nothing but positive interactions, from people saving me from something, to being given tips on where to go cause I was lost and had no idea what I was doing. heck one person took me through some dungeons.
Single player game. Never group up, never talk, never trade. Just grind. That is how Diablo was designed.
Unfortunately D4 is very Anti-social and not really an MMOARPG.
