Why is D4 on Steam Deck but Not the Switch?

That doesn’t make any sense at all, especially with D3 being on switch and having a really strong reception.

I barely even touch my Switch unless I’m traveling, but it would be nice to have D4 available on it

Isn’t switch like, super underpowered compared to PS4/PS5/XboxOne/XboxSeX ?
It runs like crap on last gen consoles, I don’t think Switch could handle it.

Switch is a tablet not a console. D3 is an old game that can be supported by latest gen Switch tablet. D4 will be on the Switch by 2033 when Switch hardware can actually support it.

If Blizzard decides to port D4 for Switch, I can guarantee you will get “D4 LITE” with 10% monster density, 1/4 of stash space, 720p graphics, etc. So, I don’t even know if you’d want it like that…

Okay, I don’t own a steam deck or very familiar with it, but it looks exactly like a Switch, am I missing something?

Are the specs between a portable steam deck and a switch drastically different that the Switch couldn’t handle D4 requirements?

Steam deck is like a mini PC, switch is weaker than most Phones nowadays. It really cannot compare. I don’t think it would even be strong enough to run Diablo Immortal (mobile game), or perhaps it barely manages to run it.

its actually not that crazy of an idea, considering new switch is coming pretty soon, and they can always reduce the rendering graphics a lot and ai upscale it like dlss

i would assume switch port is in the works but they are waiting for expansion and switch 2 to launch, so maybe end of 2024/2025?

Dude… you think switch could handle this game? look I own a switch. I enjoy the switch… but d4 would crap on the switch.

I highly doubt Diablo 4 will be available for the Switch anytime soon, if ever. Diablo 4 requirements are more than the Switch can handle, as it is a current gen game that runs best on a computer. Current gen consoles still have issues with lag and disconnects with D4, so I think that putting D4 on the Switch will have worse results.

Diablo 3 is available offline and is solely a last gen game, so it makes sense that the Switch can handle it.

They could probably release a version on the switch that it could support. Dialed down graphics and such.

I dont know if they would do it and i dont know how they did it with D3, but i would assume it was a “dumbed down” version ( not really the correct term though).

if you have seen the switch version of MK1 “dumbed down” is most definitely the correct term
