Btw, if you didn’t notice - intermission mobs - so those gate rooms between parts of dungeons where you have to kill mobs and / or pull leavers to move to next part DO NOT give XP nor drop any loot.
WHY???
If nightmare dungeons were already low XP and low loot as hell. I’m now running T30 ones and they don’t drop any more loot nor give any more XP than T1. You only get a bit more glyph XP, but absolutely nothing more fore extra difficulty.
So having bunch of mobs that don’t drop loot nor give XP is insulting.

Honestly, mostly because some of them (to create difficulty barrier) spawn INSANE amount of mobs. Like INSANE amount of XP/per minute… if they would provide XP. It would be turned into the only farm spot that ppl would exploit over and over.
Edit: you wanted to farm them, didn’t you?
I also found one where I thought: This is THE BEST farm spot in game, why would anyone ever do something else if they wanna grind? Then I’ve noticed Blizz preemptively took care of that.

a simple solution would be to award a set amount of exp and a rare chest at the end of the event.
Well or simply include that reward into reward for entire NM dungeon run (which is basically 0 right now)…
Those events are random so who the f cares if sometimes it can give bunch of XP and loot??
Because of your KPI overlords.
intermission event is standard dungeon event when transitioning zones, lmao… You have no idea what I’m even talking about, lol. Cursed chest or side event mobs DO GIVE XP, but those intermission zone events DO NOT. So not only it slows your transition to next dungeon part it also butchers your XP efficiency, because you are not getting any XP for those mobs, nor loot. So dungeons with intermission zones are automatically inferior.
I was replying to Darke who thinks if it gave XP it would be abused. Idk why when posted from mobile it didn’t show to whom I replied
People arguing in this thread in favor NPCs you kill that don’t drop loot or give XP are really something else
The whole point of this game is to kill NPCs that give XP and loot. There’s no reason for that to ever not happen.
Tell me, would you feel good about killing all these and not getting XP or loot? This was from one of those rooms:
They can dial this back if they don’t want it abused, but you should never feel like “oh here we go, the loot-less XP-less room. Hopefully I can get through it faster than 21 elites today.”

I hadn’t noticed, and now I’m annoyed, because I’ve done a lot of dungeons to get all the sigils and I play solo (not there yet, probably 75% completed). I would probably be 5-10 levels higher if they at least gave XP…

Could be an oversight or they just trying to slow people down until they get everything properly nerfed and make sure nobody has any exploits left to use.
The only thing they talk about in the public shareholders meetings are how many times people logged in, and how many hours they spend playing.
That should produce immense amounts of dopamine not disappointment.
Give us the XP Blizz!

The design (no xp/no loot) make basically no sense. I’m sure it was one of those last minute, bandage, fixes to address a potential exploit.
It’s really lame, and feels bad. No designer would do this on purpose.
how would you exploit, when you still need to do dungeon…? Now I’m wasting time on those dungeons with intermission room - slaying bunch of elites and other mobs for 0 loot and 0 xp.
You could exploit it by doing the intermission and leaving the dungeon with the reset bug and coming back in.
That said, they should give exp and loot and just fix the reset bug.
An arpg where mobs don’t give exp or loot is incredibly dumb.
so for 0.01% abusers, 99.99% have to suffer. Classic blizzard. Game is 3 weeks old and there wasn’t a single proper patch - just few minor hotfixes and few outlier nerfs.
And that’s one reason why people are complaining. We all suffer because people now have jobs that consist of streaming the games for 12 hours a day and abusing bugs to make content.
This is why barbs got nerfed so hard. We complained because 99% of players weren’t doing anything abusive, but content creators did, so we all suffered and lost a huge chunk of damage at level 50 because someone rushed to 100 and abused a bug.
