all your skills are based off of stat modifiers plus base damage of skill. weapon damage doesnt affect anything in these formulas so why is it even a thing on the weapons?
Turn on advanced tooltips you’ll see that the flat numbers you’re shown on skills are percentages of your weapon damage. It’s variable so every skill will be different
Wut.
WW barb definitely uses some wpn DMG id say
It’s posts like this that remind me no one apparently played Diablo 3. Half of the threads on this forum are complaints about mechanics that have been in the series a dozen years.
well it was a thing in D2, because damage type is a kind of “fantasy” for RPGs back in the days. You can play the way you like, to some extent base on the class. eg. Playing a lightning amazon, you would want to stack lightning damage items etc.
But since D3 it’s lost it’s purpose. There is no fantasy you just play what’s meta because thats how D3 and D4 are designed. Weapons types and damage type doesn’t make a difference unless you are playing Barb and the classes are linear, you can’t even build a Bow druid if you want, or a sword Sorc.
There is a reason why D2 fans had been complaining about how D3 is different, seems like D4 and Lilith still isn’t going to the salvation we seek
