Blizzard with synergies is fun and I have not run into any content that I cannot obliterate, usually in seconds…currently level 67. I see cold sorceresses running around using Ice Shards on groups of normal mobs and it looks painful. Don’t get me wrong, it is great for single-target DPS, but Blizzard is just so much more fun!

I’m a huge fan of blizzard and still use it in my ice shards build. Relying on nova only for farm content is boring. I love doing blizzard bombs on a huge packs and watch them all freeze and blow up. Frost nova is still the best in terms of dps, but blizzard bombs can clear quite effectively if the density is high enough. You’ll want to have 3/3 Cold front passive and barrier to maximize the fun. I also picked up the +chill from icefall paragon board. It’s pretty insane how fast you can freeze stuff with a two blizzard stack.
I also use blizzard to stagger dungeon bosses super fast.

Yet, I have not had any problems clearing anything…or surviving. 
Heh, you just haven’t played level 90+ content yet. I mean, neither have I. I’m really just parroting my favourite streamer. That’s as good as actually playing the game, though.
If this build weren’t really bad, then how come it isn’t on Maxroll? Smoked & rolled. 
I’m sure an absolutely optimized build would clear faster, but honestly why even play a game where you spend countless hours grinding loot and levels if it’s not a build you enjoy? Hardly makes this build bad.
I mean, I’m glad you are enjoying it and having fun. But, to me, it seems painfully slow compared to traditional frost nova/ice shards. Do what works/feels good, but I’m not sure anyone is sleeping on it.

Those equally leveled nightmare dungeons? Tier 20 NM is level 73. I was 67 in that video… I am now in WT4 as a level 68…we’ll see. 
I been running a pure blizzard build since early game and is now level 81. Pretty much blink and dodge around shattering the screen. 4 cooldowns constantly spamming mana return with immense amounts of damage vs chilled/frozen. It actually surpassed what I thought was a low damage ceiling early on. With frozen orb and ice shards as enchanted skills the screen is just obliterated. I wanted to use blizzard due to its higher lucky proc and it works quite well staggering and freezing everything almost instantly. It is very good synergy with legendary procs and powers, but also requires good gear. The main issue might be deep late game, other specs have similar issues.
Blizzard is absolutely a good skill especially when Shard modified.
Too many people unfortunately get sold on one skill and think it’s the be all and end all, yes Frost Nova is good, but it’s still debatable if it’s the best given the amount of CDR you need to invest in to get it to a reliable point which is likely taking away from damage bucket/survivability investment.
I use Blizzard in my Pyro/Firewall build why? Because having a reliable slow with no Cooldown means my firewalls get to stick their burn on while I drop a Meteor and Hydra to get that Doubled up burn ramp.
Frost Nova unfortunately isn’t as reliable for that due to cooldown and heavy DR on Freeze at higher WTs, same deal with Constriction the pull isn’t guaranteed nor is the root

At level 58 I could walk up to the packs in T20 NM and press frost nova and the screen would be instantly clear, then I could delete the next pack in 3-4 raw frost shard casts and then screen wipe another pack again in 7 seconds. I could kill the boss in 70% of the time without ever stunning the boss because I didn’t have to prop up an undertuned skill with my aspect slots. Everyone’s overlooking blizzard though yeah. you’re right. Nobody looked at the aspects that empower blizzard and thought to try it out. It’s just you. and now you’re in WT4 a full two levels earlier than blizzard intended for the lowest common denominator and you’re about to set this meta alight.

I really like the blizzard skill in my lightning build. Frost nova while nice for the vulnerability just is too slow. While blizzard does damage and apply chill to get cc going. Also the glacial aspect feels nice.
This is exactly what is wrong with younger gamers.
Just because someone is streaming, and may have followers that make it seem like they are competent, doesn’t mean they are good or know what they are talking about.
Most of these people are paid advertisements. They use/ are given fake accounts to follow them, fake people to donate, bots to spam content on other websites like reddit and youtube.
“Mr Beast” is probably the best example of someone two-faced to his viewers, and taking money from companies to promote their products, in the name of entertainment. And all the gullible Zoomers just lap it up.
An entire cottage industry has developed to farm content and pay slave labor in foreign 3rd world countries outside the US, in order to make content creation in this sense profitable.
I know people in various MA jobs due to my work in finance, this is just how the modern influencer schtick is marketed to kids.
Run a full ice build, enchant frost bolt and ice shards, use shatter, deep freeze if you need the GOOJF card.
You get the best of both worlds, plus you can even get another layer of damage with the unique gear that gets a chance to proc frost novas.
Is the Firebolt enchant not necessary for mana? I haven’t actually tried playing without it though.
I left click Frostbolt whilst my mana comes back. Yes I’m not 100>0 mobs in 0.1 seconds but I wouldn’t expect to anyway.
TP>FN>Blizzard>IS = dead pack of mobs.
I found a legendary with +40% Shatter dmg so I’ve switched from Avalanche to that for now. Bit trickier on the mana management but even crazier damage.
I would like to fit in Deep Freeze but I’m not sure what skill I can give up for it (Teleport, Ice Shield, FN, Blizz, FB, IS).
Is the Firebolt enchant not necessary for mana?
