Why does interacting with the game feel like trying to push two magnets together?

Its as if the graphic for the mouse pointer isn’t actually where the pointer is to the game code, I find myself having to click on fast travel icons repeatedly or spinning in circles in front of a vendor because the game just absolutely refuses to let me interact or is actively trying to prevent me from clicking things. Picking up loot, especially if its on top of a chest, feels like a pixel hunting mini-game.

Is this because its designed from the ground up for controller? Its so frustrating.

When the game launched, it felt extremely smooth and responsive but lately this has been a massive issue for me.

I must admit I play with a controller on my pc now way easier

Honestly I thought it was just me, but yeah 100% - this past period, I will click on things immediately in front of me - items, entrances, vendors, etc - and nothing happens unless I slightly change my position and try again.

It’s especially noticeable on my necro, as corpse effects just very frequently fail to happen. I saw a post where someone tried to blame it on people not understanding global cooldown, but it’s not that. I play eternal and have been playing the same character for quite some time and it feels completely different now.

It seems to be anything that requires precision clicking. Which is just awesome in a game where a lot of the boss design revolves around very precise positioning.

Which, of course, was never really a good idea in the first place when your movement and actions are mapped to the same button, and movement was only ever as precise as “try and path to the cursor.”

Yeah one of the biggest things I’ve noticed is the breakdown of movement vs attack. I’ve played a lot since this game launched and I’ve never had such a hard time keeping the two separate. Now, 80% of the time I want to attack, it moves and when I want it to move, it attacks. Like opening a random chest on the ground in a dungeon and suddenly its spamming attacks for no reason.

Yes, I have this issue as well. I just always assumed because of my 5G internet, I was getting some packet loss upstream so not every key stroke registers.

Have had this happen too, not often though, and sometimes its bugged out at a vendor, but the malignant tunnel near the whisper tree, is a constant one, i click and nothing happens until i click a few times.
There is some buggy code for PC sadly it seems, not sure if its like this on console so if it is then its the game as a whole if not its the PC version has more bugs, which is generally the case with ports. Sadly i don’t think this game was paid to be made as a PC game like D3 was and then ported to console. so there is going to be issues until they sort it all out.
Which is why i never buy ports on release, but i just enjoy diablo type games on PC more. A bit disappointing, but i haven’t had it happen at extreme levels yet.
Only thing i could think of is if you are having cursor tracking issues , check the resolution and upscaling and see if that makes a difference if it was on.
Had that issue in grim Dawn when the resolution got out of sink with my cursor position.

But in D4 i still have those times when its not clicking correctly regardless so yeah. Depends how bad it is i guess, it probably is just the code.

I’ve had this happen quite a lot this season. It was especially prevalent when I play my rapid-fire Rogue… my mouse pointer is on the right side of my screen… and as I click the attack button, my Rogue turns 180 and shoots off to the left side of the screen… ruining my combo point attack. It’s one of the reasons, I stopped playing my Rogue.
