I’m so tired of this; other builds can walk around one-shotting uber bosses, doing billions of damage, and we minion enjoyers need to be satisfied with this mediocre crap that barely does a few million damage. I’m tired of this minion misogyny; please make minions great again!

Yes you’re right. All D4 minions build do no damage compared to other builds. I would say minions are C-D tier coming from my fully geared minions necro and companion Druid, I can tell you, they suck.
I just tried blood wave and cataclysm with no gear at all and they outperform by 100-1000x the damage.
I am not sure why we have such bad aspects to multiply our damage, doesn’t make any sense.
Yes, that’s exactly my point; I have a necro minion with almost perfect gear, and it’s nowhere near the power level of other builds.
minions could be a slower build and such but I dont think it deserves to be F tier like this for the damage and overall toughness.
Maxroll tier list is so wrong about companion and minion build, they are F tier by far.
It’s not that they hate it, it’s just that they are not as easy to work with. Specialy minions, when they are not skills, but existing in this limbo. Do I want to breeze through with minions in P150? Nope. Do I wish stuff that I expect to work with them does actually work, and they require an endgame damage increase? Yes deffinetly.
I agree. Their list (Endgame & Pit pushing) only goes as low as D though… I wonder how high Ice Shards & Frozen Orb can get because if higher than 70 I think it beats Minion for sure. It would place Minion as F. Now if we’re talking Minion + archetype, which is the way Blizzard wants us to play Minion, then yeah I think we can go up to t100.
I believe they are planning on addressing these issues mid season patch…I REALLY wish it were sooner.

yes you will enjoy 50% of the season with the ring and then having more power while all the meta players have quit out of boardum due to 1 shotting their screen on T4 and complaining that we need T5-10.
Anyway… I actually think where minions are right now is what all builds and classes should be doing. T4 felt fun and engaging for quite a while, its now getting easy but its not a complete 1 shot, while pits 90+ require really good gear and some optimization with well optimized and well geared minion builds doing just over pit 100.
To me that is a perfect state. while having a build that clears T4 like its easy story mode and speed running pit 150 is absolutely horrific game design and to me is anti fun. Its just players are unable to grasp this.
2.1.2 comes out next Tuesday. You can make adjustments to the mythic variation of the minion build to use other aspects until they fix what is wrong. There are people doing pit 100+ right now so it isn’t as if it’s unplayable.
And I’d like to point out that the difference between the current version of my build & other variants (the t100 in particular) is mainly seasonal powers and the two mythics (heir of perdition & shroud of false death). So that explains the discrepency why I’m seemingly capped around a certain point on eternal realm whereas on seasonal realm it’s doing 100. That build that people are using isn’t even as highly optimized as it could be either.
I tried to put together a build of thorns. Armor with 4GA and other equipment + - suitable. The thorns do not cause any damage at all, even to trash mobs on T4 (well, maybe several thousand, but the enemies’ HP bar does not move at all). Even if the problem that affects Mendeln is solved, I’m almost sure that the situation with spikes will not change at all.
I warned you in your separate Thorns thread that Thorns damage is really bad this season. I had to change my Thorns build to a Thorns inspired build building more around critical damage from the Ring of Mendeln and Fel Gluttony.
If I stayed with my normal Thorns build, I wouldn’t be able to do enough damage to get into T4 let alone survive there. I had to adapt to the reality of that both minions and Thorns are severely underperforming in the current version of the game.
As of now, I can do almost every end game activity in T4. It may not always be pretty like having 30 seconds boss fights with any Tormented Bosses, but I can get it done.
Is it the way I want to play the game? Definitely not. I’d like to be able to play a full Thorns build like I’ve done in every prior season, but at least I’m still able to play a partial Thorns build and that’s going to have to be good enough for now.
I would be grateful if you record a video of the damage to the spikes.
Just from what I saw Mendeln + thorns = Mendeln does 99.99% of the work (not a metaphor, I don’t even see the conventional 1m damage from thorns).
Perhaps your equipment focused specifically on spikes will show at least some results. I’ll be glad to see
