Why does Barbarian feel extremely underwhelming compared to other classes?

Barbarians feel wedged into a triple shout build and do not excel as well in the endgame as their counterparts. Other classes can kill Uber Lilith in a minute or two while Barbarians average out to five plus minutes and much longer on average.

This seems like it should be addressed soon. It’s not just a small disparity - after 75 it becomes extremely obvious.

It’s not a barbarian problem, its a you problem

I’m lvl 88 testing my might vs Lilith. I’m not using any shouts and can tank her no prob. With the walking arsenal lucky hit and rage generation aspect, I’m keeping vulnerable up and filling rage super fast.

Am I killing her? No, using double swing and after 90 seconds I’m able to get it to the first triangle. I’m still underlevelled but looking forward to trying at 100.

Its your problem. I am leveling a 3rd 100 barb to keep gold cost when changing build down.

As a Necro, I’d love to have a Shout (Rallying Cry) that increased my movement, damage reduction, AND gave me Unstoppable for 6 seconds.

As a Barb, I’d love to be able to kill Lilith in a reasonable timeframe like ALL the other classes.

I’m also using a no shout barb. I support you, bruh! So much fun!

I’m having a bit of squishiness issues at 85 though – any advice on how to up the DR? I’m fortified and everything but disobedience ain’t great against single target. Also, which rage generation aspect ?

Let me introduce you to Sorc.

Because all viable builds are 3 shouts

Considering my level 75 Barbarian basically melts anything he looks at while basically being unkillable… I’m not sure it does become obvious. Are you trying to do Tier 100 keys at level 75 or something?

Barbs are extremly much faster in speed and clear than most.

Barb is OP if any thing

I have dmg reduction stats on chest legs and neck along with some of the paragon nodes for armor and health. At 88 I have 7600 armor and 12.5k hp.

There are two walking arsenal aspects - I don’t remember the names but one increases lucky hit chance for 20-30% and the other on ring that gives 20-40% more rage generation. Both are active when all 3 walking arsenal buffs are up.

I am also running shoutless. My build is very off-meta, I’ve never heard anyone talk about it… and for that reason, can’t really say what it is as I’m sure if it caught on, Blizzard would nerf it to the ground…

… but let’s just say you absolutely do not need to run 3 shout to be viable. At all.

To anyone else who thinks that’s wrong… all I will say is look at the legos in your bank. Try something that isn’t 3 shout Whirlwind. You may wind up coming up with a combo that’s ridiculously strong and surprise yourself.

yeah, I’ve been hesitant to share my build for fear of it getting noticed and nerfed. I think I’m mostly ok though cause virtually where every other barb screams about nerfs, I’ve gotten a buff. If I fix up my damage resistance a bit I think I’ll climb higher.

Feel this… very very hard.

We may be doing the same thing, my friend. lol

Barbs want everything man. Tankiest class in the game and do the most damage. You gotta have trade offs. Play a different class if you want to farm lilith.

Everyone wants everything. FTFY.

Uh, do you skip leg day?

Never skip leg day. Ever.

I find stretching your legs out makes me very happy… and exceptionally bouncy.

All these people saying Barb is not reliant on 3 shout builds are fooling themselves. Of course you can play sub optimally if you want to, but your build is gimp compared to a similar build that uses 3 shouts. That’s not great game design, and it should be changed.

Just like every efficient Sorcerer build requiring Ice Armor, Teleport, Frost Nova and Flame Shield. If you’re not using those 4 skills, your build is sub optimal. This is bad.

Just like every Necromancer build requiring Blood Mist, Corpse Tendrils, Bone Storm and Decrepify. If you’re not using those 4 skills, your build is sub optimal. This is bad.

Damn near every class is pigeonholed into 1-2 builds if they want to reach peak power. That’s not a good thing, and defending it makes you look silly. If you want to play some dumpster build, go right ahead…but don’t pretend that Blizzard did you a favor by making things imbalanced.

Based on your logic, every class and build should have been able to clear GR 150 at the same difficulty. That wasn’t and will never be the case.
