to learn a few of those spells to 15th level requires 250 magic to learn
I will happily take whatever information you have to get my warrior to that level of magic to get it to 15th level that you pretend is possible
I think the primary motivation here is that it keeps more in line with some typified class fantasy, while simultaneously making it so that the animators don’t have to do so much work ensuring that every skill looks right when used with each and every weapon type.
Personally, I’m glad that there are games which take this approach, but I’m also glad there are games that don’t.

Why aren’t you running staff of apocalypse? You know, one of the cool, innovative things they did in this ancient game, was refrain from limiting the items you can use per class, so a warrior can use a staff of apocalypse and cast that spell, without meeting the stat requirements to learn the spell.

apparently theoretical max for magic on a war is 225 in OG and 285 in hellfire
a bit besides the point though as not being able to use a max level spell doesnt mean you cant use the spell at all.

It is totally the point, the issue isn’t weather I can cast them, it’s getting them to max level and Diabolical is saying it’s totally possible but lacking in the details when it comes to making it possible, and just starts making excuses
Not everyone can do everything. People usually have different strengths and weakness. It makes sense that a Barbarian would be more skilled with a 2H Axe and lousy at reading a spell book. The Barbarian in question simply was not trained to sling spells. Could there be extraordinary Barbarians that could do both efficiently? Sure! Is that the norm? Of course not.
When was the last time you had a brain surgeon stock shelves at Walmart? Exactly… it would be a waste of talent/skill & training.

You can. You can get your stats that high from items, like I said previously.
Jesus, stop derailing the thread. You can mix and match items across all characters in every Diablo up until D4, and that’s what the thread is about.
Yes, and this is represented in every other video game as stat points. If a sorc goes out and trains to wield a sword, they would be able to use a sword.

hmm weird. in diablo 2 bows javelins and spears were amazon only. Orbs were restricted to sorceres. Katars for assassin.

Druids only were able to equip pelts, Necromancers shrunken heads for example.

I don’t get why my Sorc or Necro can’t wield a 1h sword thou, there’s no logic behind.
Then my Barb can’t wield Sickles and a dam shield to go ham on thorns. Why Blizz? Too lazy?
The focus and class specific stuffs are fine but why shields? Shouldn’t everyone be able to wear a shield? At least D3 got this logic correct, even Demon Hunters can put on shields.
So much more to expand via legendary and unique shields yet it’s only bind on Necros.

Orbs were wands for sorcs. Druid pelts are literally just reskinned body armor, lol, every character in the game can use body armor. Heads for necros were merely shields with a skull graphic, and every character can use a shield.

I don’t care much about weapon cosmetics but what I don’t understand is why the back pet cosmetics are class bound. I like that black goat but I don’t wanna play necromancer.

Yea the cat is cool too, I like most of them actually they’re cute. But class bound is stopping me from buying them. I don’t play eternal and I don’t know what class I’m going to play from season to season.
So if I buy the goat and then end up playing barb instead, I can’t use it that season. I could, but I’m a 1 character kinda guy.

That isn’t saying that javs, spears, and bows were specifically limited to amazons (as made apparent by the classes using those very items in the Youtube videos), you silly noob, it’s saying that those specific subsects of items would spawn specially tailored to amazons and had things like + amazon skills.
So every class could use bows, every class could just spears, etc, but those very limited items (in amount, relative to the whole), like bows or spears, would be limited to an amazon, even though every class could use spears, bows, or javelins.
