Im not trying to offend in any way. A couple bucks and a few hours on a video game isnt that big of a deal. You arent really investing anything you are trying something new. People do it all the time.
It won’t be a few hours though. I approach these games a bit differently than i would a racing game or fps. In order, imho, to get a good assessment of a game of these types i feel that character development needs to be added into the mix.
Couple hours, and maybe 5 levels (i am estimating) i do not believe is enough time to say “this game is great” or “this game is terrible”.
In order for me to really get a truthful opinion of games in this genre, i feel there needs to be some time invested. More than a couple hours anyway.
This is How i am anyway….and that is why i dont know if i am willing to invest the time i would need or not.
Honestly, i probably wont bother. I think i am kinda done wasting my time on gaming for a while i suppose.

Well, I’ve actually graduated to the endgame for D4, which is the forum. I haven’t touched D4 for weeks now, because there’s nothing to do.
Actually, I did log in long enough to see that I’d have to grind stupid things like gathering stacks of wood or opening 100 helltide chests in order to do AoZ, so of course, I logged off.
I’m in the same boat. PoE2 looks incredible, but I’m not a fan of PoE1.
Because I still find it fun. The season is 2 months in, so I’m winding down a bit (although I have started a 2nd character). I’ll keep puttering along until season 3.
After I finished my season journey in Season 1, I puttered around with PoE again. Got bored with it much faster than I thought I would. There’s lots to do in the game, but the graphics and overall gameplay feel awful at this point.

And I was finishing things up last month and planning to shelve the game until season 3, but a buddy of mine decided to give the game a try again after I said I was having fun. Now leveling a second character along side him. Or trying to. He’s having so much fun he shot past me in level!
I still play D4 coz I am a collector and there are still a couple of uber uniques I don’t have, lol.
I don’t play as much as I used to but when I do, I try to set goals that I find fun for me to accomplish (may not be fun for others to do though but it is for me) like I just got done getting all 20 unique rares from the 20 named elites. I’m now trying to get my gold to 500 million but I seem to get stuck at 200 million - I keep trying to get decent rolls on my gear, lol. Maybe my next goal would be to get the 3 items for the Cow Level. 
Why do people play a game like golf? Is it for the awesome free cosmetics? They do so because it is fun and challenging even if they suck at it. If you are not having fun being challenged maybe you should find a different hobby…
No No, I’m only visiting the forum time to time to remind me about my bad decision buying this game.
I played some S2, but is a slow D3. For monsters and demons stomp, I prefer D3… but atm Diablo IP is not in my playlist.
I just log in from time to time hoping there are cosmetic unlocks I can achieve through actual gameplay or testing my skills. So far it’s just been a boring and empty open world sandbox platform grind fest with cookie cutter builds and nothing genre defining. Maybe next year it will change hahah… either way, last epoch is too good and then poe2 also eventually, those games are flooded with content and build diversity so it’s hard to consider playing Diablo franchise anymore.

I still keep playing Diablo IV because I just play HC. The game actually is best on this mode.
I just play the forums. They are more fun than this d3 reskin. So no. I don’t play. Just happened to stop by to see if they are going to rebuild.

Yep, I guess it depends of the hours of the days, but clearly it’s not like before.
HC is a lot more fun but my friends wont play HC 
What will you do when you realize this ‘friend’ is a next gen AI bot about to be replaced and forever taken away by the next-next generation? 
Edit: @lazyloaf, now you know what to get all your friends for XMAS. Get them all Seligs for their level 60 HC character. And yes, this also means carrying the to 60 without dying.
I did started the campaign with one of them. They died on the act 2 wolf boss and told me to go … myself lol
That is bad gifting. Secretly farm for them with flameshield enchant, then give them character with Selig for XMAS. If they have to endure the campaign…that’s a bad gift!!!

I stopped playing D4 after Activision Bobby started implementing player retention strategies by not fixing and blatantly disregarding bugs e.g. death by ‘unknown’ and teleporting in town dying.
