Why do you still play D4?

So why do you still play D4?
(If you are reading this don’t reply with “I don’t” as I won’t believe you anyways.)

Just wondering why everyone is still playing. For me personally I’m just doing the seasonal unlocks as something to keep me occupied on my downtime in my busy life nowadays.

I finished what I wanted to in S2 so I am currently doing the story again, I also like the side quests. I have no interest in the AoZ but this looks interesting. I have played PoE, Grim Dawn, Wolcen, Titan Quest and Torch Light but I always come back to Diablo. I do not care what the haters and trolls say.

Honestly, because I don’t have any other game to play right now

I like the diablo world and setting too much, im a lore nerd though d4 has greatly decreased lore wise.
yea PoE is amazing, i just honestly never liked its setting or tone too much. few cool places ye, but its not diablo.
I play maybe 30 min before stopping every time, but i still hope someday theyll learn it doesnt take 5 months for a hotfixable problem.

It’s actually fun. I don’t mind the monotony not the pace of the game. This game does it for me as a father of a 18 month old. I have to juggle a career, marriage, and parenthood. Do I wish that this game was “better”? Sure, but I got my money’s worth a long time ago

I enjoy the core gameplay quite a bit. Combat is smooth and a lot of skills are fun that I have played so far (Druid, Necro, and Sorc).

Now, with that said, D4 is not designed as a game to grind on without end. A lot of elements break down when you start putting in significant hours because the end grind isn’t amazing (Duriel) [Note: Not counting AoZ as it isn’t core to the game yet]

As such, once I finish Midwinter collecting I’ll take a break from D4 being a “main game” and jump to something else I want to knock off my list. Not sure what that is yet but I do have a long list to pick from =)

D3’s wasn’t great either. I think for those of us that like the lore, most of it is in the books now. I will say some of the sidequests in D4 were quite awesome from a tone or “ending” for previous people we knew which was nice.

i know i have said this a lot, but i will continue saying it.

i havent logged in since start of season 1.

i stay on the forums because i love this IP and i look for patches to see if blizzard made any improvements.

my line in the sand for coming back is simple : chat and group finder.

with added bonus for full d2 style trade.

anyway, im hoping blizzard wakes up eventually and remembers how to make games and fixes this one by adding chat and a group finder.

There is nothing else to play. I am open for suggestions. I am waiting for PoE 2 but I won’t be playing PoE 1.

Xbox btw.

I skipped season 1 because the game was terrible, came back in season 2 but regretted it already, there’s still a lot to improve. Maybe I’ll come back in season 4/5.

I am asking that of myself more and more.

And i honestly do not know why. Maybe it is because i don’t have anything else i wanna play right now?

For the first time i looked at BG3 gameplay videos today. Looks good, but i dont know. I wasn’t crazy about the first 2 and TOSC. The review i saw today said that “if you liked dragon age, you will love this”. And well, i loved DA…so i am debating, but….i dont know.
