So I saw the free trial and thought “okay I’ll give it a shot” and “why not”.
Here we go again.
So I boot up the game and I make my Spiritborn. I read: the level cap is 25 for this trial. I didn’t realy ANYWHERE that I’d be booted the nanosecond I hit level 25 preventing me from experimenting with capstone talent/s or finishing the spiritborn class quest I had started as I got distracted by enemies and was levelling up too fast.
Seems silly + Arbitrary. It IS on sale but idk if I’ll be able to play enough to justify it.

Level 25 isn’t nearly enough to get your hands dirty with the game. Things change so much once you hit 60, start to get paragon, aspects that matter for your build, uniques, glyphs, gems, runes, etc. The way your character plays is drastically different most of the time.
Right now it’s on sale, but if I were you, I’d wait for an even bigger sale, probably by March or April of next year. See how things are doing in Season 7 or 8 and make a judgement call then. You aren’t missing a whole lot right now by waiting.

Id agree with the ol boy above me.
Game is in a bad state right after it got into a good one.
They break things to say next season its a feature.
I did more making my own maps with triggers on StarCraft Broodwar lol.
Poe comes out December 6th EA.
They are releasing the new ladder for D2R on December 6th lol.

Level 25 is 30 minutes of side quests.

Its an insult used in germany (maybe other places) people use to refer to people who suffer from trisomy 21.
I figured id check if its used in english, and figured it isnt. So yea. just a tasteless term kids without any education use.
as for your OP - yea, i dont think they did that nicely with the spiritborn trial. Its fine that there is a lvl cap i guess, but they could at least let you play as lvl 25.

Did it also say “Game over! insert more coin to continue” ?

It’s an activision forum. Have you engaged with some people from these communities? They are some of the most delusional wackjobs you could ever meet.
It’s a great time when you gotta use the bathroom or to pass time at work.
Hell, some of these zealots have 7k+ posts; that’s 100+ hours minimum on the forums.
You just can’t make this stuff up
So is diablo 4 worth playing atm? still not sure if Iw anna buy the xpac.
at the end of the day id decide that on the fact if you liked the base game, or not at all.
I doubt voh would totally change your view on the game. I had a good time in s6, but tastes differ obviously. im pretty sure there might even be more trials at some point, so you could also wait to use those. incase you use the game pass, chances are also that it might go there at some point.
It’s prob easier to code it that way then to have the exp turn off
You already played enough to justify it.
It’s the cost of one dinner, man. It is not like you are spending life changing money.
But as the man says, it’s your money, do what you want.
That one dinner is still too damn expensive.

Where are you going where dinner for 1 costs $60?
The xpac is not $60. It is half that right now, for the holiday sale.
The xpac is $30 on sale right now.
That does not justify buying it, if you don’t like the state of the game.
IF you do like the state of the game, by all means support them more.

Honest opinion, no, not right now. See how it’s doing at its next sale, and make a judgement call then.

I remember when RoS made diablo 3 good and fun. Guess this xpac didn’t do that to poor d4.
