This mean we have to collect much more helltide materials than the varshan one.
I have never got more than one from him. I almost get 2 each varshan kill.
This needs to be more equal. It becomes a slog killing those for only 1 material really.
I collected to equal amount of summons for both Varshan and Grigoire, To after used them all, I have double the amount of Varshan materials.
Varshan is the easiest boss, and the one that drops the most? Really…
Which material ? the Mucus drops yes but not the Shard of Agony (though not sure)… Haven’t killed the beast in Ice (yet) so don’t know if s/he drops it as well but pretty sure Varshan doesn’t drop the Shards of Agony to summon Duriel (though someone correct me if I’m wrong)
You are correct, Valhala only drops the eggs and Greg only drops the shards. How much of each I’m not sure. Never really paid attention myself.
Varshan drops the egg for duriel, but grigoire drops half as many shards, as Varshan drops eggs. So you need to do so many helltides to keep up with the Varshan drops.
I did equal number of kills
Got 16 eggs and only 8 shards…
And the worst part you need to of each for spawning Duriel. Could have been 8 runs, down to only 4.
That’s because Eggs aren’t only used for Duriel. I mean yes, people are using it only for Duriel but pretty sure the Ice beat requires an egg also
That’s why they did what they did, Blizz probably kinda expected people to do half & half but we’re all in on all-in Duriel mode 
No ice beast is a different material, its those from NM dungeons only.
9 Distilled Fear to craft the map and that’s it. That’s why I think it’s bad that the duriel materials do not drop equal.
Eggs are Duriel only material not used elsewhere.

Ahaa, ok then, thanks for clearing that up. In that case makes no sense indeed, unless there are more egg-spawned bosses to come

You usually get 1 but there is a chance of getting 2 eggs and 2 shards per kill.
Ive gotten two shards a couple times as well as 2 eggs.
I alway do same amount of kills on both bosses. And alway get around double the amount of eggs…
today I did just 2 of each, I have 3 shards and only 2 eggs.
RNG I guess.
Vorshann takes 10 seconds to farm mats and kill. Other dude takes like an hour. Thats why, lol.
