It might be interesting just from a game perspective to allow each season to be played offline after they’ve rotated out. Kind of like a Classic version of the game, but limited to your own instance. Snapshot the patch level at the end of the seasons. Let the eternal characters go into offline mode, pick the seasonal experience, and enjoy it for what it was.
Have the current season for the usual crowd of ARPG addicts. Could be interesting to track who is playing what seasons in the long run for another player engagement metric.
lmao thought it was a thread from 2023
In case you wanted to change your hairstyle.

Seasons are about building your character from scratch and exploring the seasonal theme as you go. This season doesn’t really have a theme as such, a small rep grind and some magic pots and explode bosses. The goal is to get as powerful as you can by the end of the season. If you start off with an already powerful character it kinda defeats the purpose.
Because people have been conditioned over the years to think it’s required so Blizzard (any companies using the model) can syphon money from said conditioned people.

Wait, how exactly does starting over every season siphon money from people? It’s a “pay once and done” game, it’s not like it’s subscription based.

Again, another example of Blizzard (and like companies) conditioning of players.
You are their target audience. We love to see it.

Oh my goodness there used to be a yellow dot indicating that I should buy an item for 1/5 the price of the full game with a warm yellow dot but I guess that didn’t attract my attention enough so now maybe this red tag will.
Nothing spells “ambiance and world building” like a little reminder to SHOP SHOP SHOP every time I log in and view the interface!
That dopamine fix will make me so very happy for 20 seconds!

i just wish i could buy more. i just wish i could buy more skins for my permenatly bearform druid so i can show people that i have purchasing power.
i remember playing diablo 1 for the first time nothing saddened me more than the inability to buy skins.
I JUST WANT TO BUY MORE. LOG IN AND BE TOLD TO BUY. WHY IS THAT SO DIFFICULT BLIZZARD D: D:D: D:D: D:D: D:D: D:
I want food now.
A friend of mine does french fries in duck fat; the way the fries are cooked causes a ton of little pores in the outer layer so it gets super crispy.
But you don’t HAVE to buy them!!! You know because they make their billions off the people who DON’T buy all the cosmetics.

I noticed the other day that you can do that whenever now. (If it wasn’t possible before? Ider anymore, but I think it wasn’t. If it wasn’t it’s pretty funny, since you could change tattoos… a shortage of hair stylists is a weird oversight.)
That’s a thing now? Huh.
no i must buy I MUST BUY
If I DON"T BUY diablo RETURNS

Part of seasons is the race to 100 and competition to push high end content first. Starting at level 100 makes zero sense.
Yeah! A shortage of a color wheel/dye options, hairstyles, faces, body types, more base cosmetics for armor and weapons, etc. A year later - All an oversight!

and the other part is the new content/story, which I don’t understand why it has to require a new char
i don’t give a flying fiddle about people’s perceived achievements of “winning” the race to 100, I just want to enjoy the content on my character I worked to build
