It doesn’t make sense. I don’t want to reroll every season. In a few years am I going to have 5 Sorcerers, 3 Rogues, 4 Druids, etc., on Eternal?
Why can’t the Seasonal content be applied for the end game folks?
WoW’s content is for endgame, Diablo’s is for people to level 1-100 again and again and again.
At the end of every season my abandoned characters get moved over, but I prefer to play my original character on eternal. It would be nice to have Seasonal stuff on Eternal for those who are 100 or approaching 100 there.
Agree 100% they can make it win/win situation by letting us upload our chat to season. And for those who are a glutton for punishment and want to reroll every time that option is also there. And for those that whine about leaderboards just exclude people that upload a char (not that anyone really cares about leaderboards, except streamers). Letting people upload existing characters to seasons would greatly increase player base, because there are a large portion of people not wanting to start from scratch every time. I play eternal cause it’s so painful to keep levelling from scratch
Exactly and we miss out on all of the events, like this past Holiday one and all of the Seasonal themes. Why do I need multiple characters of the same class? I never understood this Seasonal model.
Thats how ARPG’s with “season” such as ladder(D2), Seasons(D3), Leagues(PoE). See the thing about them in D2 and or PoE is its a way for the game to start fresh with a new economy. Since both those games have trading 100%. D3 was mostly to reset the leaderboards, a shift the meta with changes to sets, buffs & nerfs.
You say why can’t seasonal content be applied for the end game folks? What do you propose here? Have a button that you click on to refresh the character to the new season but Level 100? Do they keep their current gear? Materials? Gold? Loot in the stash? I ask those questions because if that is the case you’ve just inflated every season going forward and these “duped” boss mats will be even more rampant. ( considering they are being duped right now in S3)
WoW’s content is for endgame. Correct but that is also a full blown MMORPG. They have dungeons, raids, battle grounds, arena, contested zones, crafting etc etc… In diablo 4 would you truly play one character for a year knowing you have nothing left to do in the game until the next expansion?
I’m not looking for an insta-100 button or any auto-levelling, but put in content for players on Eternal that have finished the campaign and are shooting for 100. All the new stuff goes to Seasonal only. Why do I have to reroll and start from level 1 to see it?
Or have another server where your Eternal character that has completed the campaign (or is over a certain level) can be copied to that is Seasonal and not Eternal.
Seasonal = Gets fresh updates with themes and mechanics.
Eternal = Dead, static, only general patch changes.
A bunch of ppl are going to tell you to shut up that’s arpgs you suck blah blah
But I have to admit sometimes I wonder they didn’t make this an mmo the world is huge and some of its activities don’t feel very fun to redo every season like waypoints and strongholds
The game is fun for the most part just dial back boring stuff
I’ve been asking this since the game started: Put the new stuff on both realms with the exception of leaderboards. The only reason that a seasonal realm exists is to be a constant fresh start server. That is it. . Eternal realms are boring because
1.) No one is interested in playing on a static world where nothing changes
2.) The cool new stuff always goes to seasonal
If Blizzard were to change this and allow for both realms to be enjoyable, then there would be far more people coming back to this game every three months than there are now. But sure, let’s listen to the traditionalists whose only reason for opposing this is “MUH TRADITION” The only slight negative I can see is those of us who don’t give two flips about leaderboards and only play the seasons for the new content will stay on eternal forever.
that’s the principle of season…every diablo game work like that : many player love that everyone start from scratch
Also quiet a few things goes to eternal so you don’t have to play season if you don’t want to : only the new gimmick (that is a temporary one eitherway) and the new storyline is unique to season , everything else (new items, new ubers, fixes , balances etc…) goes to eternal as well.
And many players don’t. Hence the reason threads like this pop up every time a new season starts. Not everyone likes relevling every three months. Not everyone enjoys having to unlock all those waypoints every three months. Not everyone enjoys redoing the same strongholds every three months. Not everyone enjoys being forced to relevel just to get the new and cool things. Those things should be made available on the eternal realm. Period. There is NO reason to be resistant to that.
Not true. The battlepass with all the new cosmetics are season only as well as the new end game content and holiday events. How would the seasonal realm be hurt if those things were made available in ER?
One single server. Season updates / theme apply to this one server. You have the option to purchase the season pass, which will grant you loads of cosmetics etc that can be unlocked on a separate progress bar.
not really true, every new wow raid, let alone expansion, you basically start over. In terms of new raids your gear becomes useless, in terms of expansions you get to keep your leveled character, which are basically “new” tho, because you have to hit the new level cap.
It’s just how seasons work new mechanics new builds new fun… if you could bring your lvl 100 character into the new season on day 1 you’d just steamroll through everything and then complain you are bored and cry that it’s a dead game.
Yes it does. Destiny 2 type seasons here would mean the entire pool of items become obsolete every three months. That’s insane to keep up with. Which means the item pool would be small(er) and (more) boring. It would be HORRID.
