Would be nice to get back into Hell itself; one step at a time. Hell has been opening gates and tiding into Sanctuary; time to take the fight to Hell. (prob a future ex pack)

Diablo demanded a signed contract that he couldn’t be one shot by a barb. The devs couldn’t, so he is holding out. The Lord of Terror will not be so easily defeated.

Come back in 4-5 years when we are a few xpacs into the story. Im glad the big D will be down the road instead of a first installment.

I, for one, am glad we’re seeing other characters in the world. Really helps branch out the lore and world as a whole.
I’m sure we’ll see Diablo sometime, I imagine that he is recuperating much like his hatred buddy.

It’s not over, they are planning on annual expansions and all 3 prime evils have been referenced in D4.

Yup, should bring Diablo back, he was the coolest boss. Why we bother fight those lesser evils like Lilith? They are insignificant compare to the three prime evils.
Gotta buy the DLC to kill the games main boss.

If you’re concerned by this, I wouldn’t recommend playing any of the Final Fantasy games because none of those have managed to be the final fantasy.

did you play the campaign? diablo is part of d4.
So the only game where Diablo was the TRUE final boss was only in D1. After that he was overshadowed by the expansion bosses. I realy want in this game, that our main antagonist and name sake, to become the FINAL final boss again. If that means we don’t get to fight him untill the last expansion, I’m happy with it.

We’ll see Diablo by the 10th expansion. Or season 100.
It’s a reasonable question, but also: why don’t you defeat Diablo in all the acts of Diablo 2, or in the first floor of Diablo 1?
The answer is that it is the final boss… the real enemy. Diablo 4 is just the first part. The first act, the first floor.
If Diablo were the first enemy he would feel like the weakest of all.
Just so you have an example (which you may not like, but you never know): Diablo Immortal has been building the story of Diablo’s return for 2 years… and at the end of the year we will surely be able to face him.
Because of ESG incentives, the most iconic character has to be female.
