I can’t link but… Nintendo Life has an article on Astral Chain getting review bombed.
Bombing followed by fans pushing back. Note other games mentioned in the article that were bombed at the time have since been cleaned up.
Forbes has an article on the more recent Horizon: Forbidden West review bombing.
And a bunch of homophobes bombing Forbidden West recently. This is really common stuff, dude.
There’s a reason that Valve even had to take action to mitigate malicious review-bombing from users who would review bomb one game because they didn’t like a decision the company made for a completely separate title, for example -
Variety (yes, the entertainment outlet) has a 2019 on angry Steam users review bombing Borderlands 1/2 on Steam because they were upset with Borderlands 3 being an EGS exclusive at launch.
And users actually need to have owned the game on Steam to do this, a requirement that does not exist on Metacritic which makes bombing all the easier.
Because the game is bad? And the new season you finish in a day, or a week if your a casual player. As soon the Barber drops, you have no real reason to play the game because now you have a gem that is more powerful than any of your skills, atleast as a sorc. Instead of making skills powerful they give you aspects and gems and stuff to make them workable, when in reality that shouldn’t be the case. Aspects should change and modify skills, not make them mandatory to do any damage at all. 9 ranks in a skills should be more powerful than any aspect you can change them with, damage wise. Aspects should not boost damage more then skill ranks, what they should do instead, is change the skill, like for example Blizzard could become a Comet or something, I don’t know.
Because the game was probably a 2.5/10 pre patch 1.10 and post patch is a pathetic 1/10. Notice how Blizzard waited long enough to secure sales (that they won’t refund) before screwing the game totally. That was by design.
Imagine if you bought a car, and 6 weeks later, the manufacturer bought out an update that you were forced to use, and it cut the HP by 50%, reduced the gearbox life by 30% and increase fuel consumption by 50%. You’d be damn well unhappy and demanding a refund or fix. Software is different to other consumer items and Blizzard pretty much did the same thing as my analogy above to D4.
They should be ashamed of themselves, but if you look at the campfire video, the bastards look smug AF.
y’all are absolutely unhinged with this stuff and this is why developers often don’t want to interact with angry, bitter, hyperbolic, and frankly insane players.
I keep hearing this game is amazing. My little bro literally messaged me on Discord about it like 20 minutes ago. Looks like I’ll have to give it a shot.
right, both of these are capitalist magazines, whose sole raison d’etre is to promote software so it makes $$$$$$$. Of course, they’re going to be telling the trough cough BS *cough.
