I have an Ancestral Legendary Focus that has an imprinted Aspect. I want to replace the imprinted Aspect with another one. Every other piece of gear I have equipped lets me do this EXCEPT this stinking Focus.
When I try it says only Rare or Legendary items can be imprinted… /SMH… wth?
It’s a known bug, and it’s related to the amount of gold you have IIRC you might have enough to do it but sometimes you need 2 or 3 times the amount of gold it displays that you need-
not because of the price- it’ll still only cost the original price.
Log out of game and reload game
Yeah this has plagued me several game sessions.
I went to my stash to test another focus and sure enough its the only thing that cannot also be imprinted. And this one is Sacred so its not tied to the Ancestral thing on the other one…
I have 16M gold so I dont think its that I dont have enough gold.
A work around that I’ve seen a few people suggest is to just imprint ANY other aspect onto it, and then do the aspect that you want. Seems to work for others.
Thanks, the problem is the focus is greyed out and not available to imprint anything on it at all.

Is the message it displays when I try and place it in the imprint slot.
This is a known bug and i also have a focus that is grayed out. I believe it has something to do with imprinting and then upgrading the focus.

Dang, was hoping to help. Is the item socketed and has a gem in it? If so, try removing the gem. Also, try passing the item to another character and having them try to imprint the aspect in question.

Blizzard hasn’t even addressed this bug, despite the age of it, and several reports, and several patches that were supposedly meant to fix bugs. It seems to ONLY affect sorc focus off hands too - can’t find reports of other items for other character classes with the same bug.
Perhaps Blizzard should focus (no pun intended) on fixing these kinds of bugs, and balancing the game, than introducing seasonal play. Get the base game right before adding to the cesspool of a mess that D4 is becoming. Sorry for my damning assessment of the game - it is broken in so many areas (poor items, loot drops are truly horribly terrible; unbalanced CC; unbalanced character builds; insanely stupidly high costs for enchanting [compare enchanting to upgrading an item at the Blacksmith, where costs are reasonable). Ultra rare uniques that are so rare you have a better chance of winning the lottery and REAL money lol…
Well that makes me sad if this is a known bug for some time. You would think that would be a 5-10min code review to figure out.
Have the same bug and glad i am only missing 1 percent on the aspect because do not listen there is NO fix. Logging off does not work. Having gold does not work(been over 400 mil still could not change it).
I haven’t personally had the issue happen to me thankfully. I feel your pain though. I have a very nice off hand focus that will be very hard to replace. I’m wanting a better wand, but the game is just being nasty.
6 helltide events now, 5-6 chests per helltide and not a single legendary item has dropped from a chest. I’ve had 4 legendary items drop from mobs. So, not fantastic either. I’ve found helltides to be nearly a complete waste of time - the only redeeming things about helltides is the XP seems good and fiend roses, which you can’t get anywhere else. That’s it.
saw NOTHING in the patch notes about this today. WTH Blizz?
