Why bother leveling past 70-80?

This game actively works against you. When i got into WT4 i was lvl 61. Things were dangerous, but i still did enough damage to kill things, it was a good time. Levels 70-80 Were a great time. Nightmare dungeons were repetitive, but fun. I got a lot of great ancestral lego gear, crazy good rare rolls, some uniques etc etc. Now im in my high 80s… and the EXACT same content feels more difficult, regardless how great my gear is. Im not even sure “difficult” is the right word, maybe tedious.

Now im honestly questioning why i even bother grinding to 100 and finishing paragon stuff? My gear wont be getting much better aside from TINY upgrades when i find insane rare drops or something. I know people said Sorc kind falls off late game, but getting chain CC’d and one shot while barely slogging along THE SAME CONTENT I WAS BLASTING THROUGH BEFORE, just feels ridiculous.

What a terrible mechanic.

Yeah depends on class/build. If your build doesn’t scale well or you don’t get gear upgrades you get weaker and weaker compared to content.

Sorc has the most issues with this.

It is a poorly designed system for many reasons, this being one of them.

lvl 100 is when you quit the game

Because until 90 you can’t have all uniques and aspects drop.

Is that confirmed anywhere or just the actual thoughts bc of grandfather and shako?

I will maaaybe level one character up to 80 to open world boss caches - hate that they take place in stash.

End game right now is reaching level 100 and killing Uber Llilith. I stopped playing after reaching level 76. Gonna wait for the season and see if the developers have figured out a more sustainable end game experience. Also I would appreciate more interesting dungeon designs, with multiple levels like a labyrinth. Something I can get lost in for hours and discover lore just by looking at the surroundings.

(When i saw the reveal trailer I thought those characters were in an enormous dungeon. Doing the actual side quest that took me to that dungeon was very unrewarding in experience. It was a tiny dungeon with not much to look at and king of an insult to that epic reveal trailer. The designs in the dungeons feel like everything is taken from a library of assets and juxtaposed from a rule of thumb. For example: When Donan’s keep was attacked how did the demons have time to decorate it with spikes on the walls and put up shrines? It just felt like it was a go to design but not something that reflects story and lore or logic. My memory of the dungeons in D4 are all meshed in together, while my memories of dungeons in D2 and D3 are specific)

It is not. It is recommended to be 70. I solo’ed the Capstone Dungeon at 61 also and it let me into WT4.

It’s locked on me. Says it requires level 70.

So you’ve done the capstone and it’s still locked?

You have to complete a special dungeon to unlock it.

I did. Looks like it was just in the world. It said locked after I finished. I can select it in menu though.

That’s really odd.
I got in at 60 after dying to Elias like 8 times in a row, but it definitely let me in.

Have you tried using the World Tier statue instead of doing it in the menu?
I think the last objective of the quest is specifically using the statue to go into WT4, but I can’t exactly remember.

yes you have to use the statue.

Same thing happened for me with WT3 capstone. Be sure you actually try to change it at the World Tier Statue, as the unlock is tied to the white quest. Also, once that is clear, if you still have the issue, relogging should set it straight, especially if you completed the capstone dungeon in a party.

We’re missing a World Tier atm so it does feel awful, in S1 We’re getting WT5 so hopefully that smooths out the exp gain and power level with higher IP potential.

Shaco waht is the highest rarity droped at 87 so what are you talking about? Is there stuff I have overlooked? Please gimmi sources I need them infos  .

Was this said anywhere? I understood WT5 as a new WT that is added that offers nothing at the end of the day and we most likely still are stuck with 850 gear that offers us nothing because the ILvL scaling ends somewhere far lower then 850 so we get nothing out of a WT5 then having a WT5 and maybe get some XP bonuses from 90-100 or something like that. To me WT5 looks like another bandaid fix for big issues in the system foundations of the game.

The experience after 50 wasnt a focus for them before release.
Its why we have so few unique or chase items, no economy, poor balancing and missing quality of life features.
Will probably have to wait a couple of seasons or an expansion for them to sort it out.

At level 70 you get level 90 item power gear, so you feel powerful. Then you go for 20 levels with very small upgrades as you find gear that may have slightly better affixes, but the item level doesn’t change. So the closer you get to 90, the less overgeared you are.

The same thing happens in WT3, you get level 70 power gear right away, then you feel weaker and weaker as you level until you make it to WT4. That’s not as bad though because in that level range you are also gaining a lot of new power in the paragon boards and glyphs as you go.
