What do you think patch 1.1.1 is? A response to BG3… More mobs in NM dungeons, EXP boost, all classes getting buffed… Blizzard knows they’re going to lose alot of people.
BG2 was GOAT of RPG gaming… to be honest I am still on the fence whether I should get BG3. It’s getting epic reviews but the whole turn-based combat is turning me off a bit.
Can always try it out and return it within the 2hr window on Steam. Just hearing turn-base turns a lot of people off, but some are finding they actually like it. It just works for BG3 as D&D TT itself is just turn-based as well.
half of the game is ruined because i cant refrain from reloading everytime a roll goes bad lol
they should have a mode where that’s somehow impossible heh
To be fair the game got lots of nudity and rly cringe and odd stuff which also attract a certain kind of player which is not included in those two.
We see ppl here who complain about no nudity and curves in d4 while bg3 rly went all in on that.
only if you let it happen or make choices leading to that yourself ![]()
put clothes in the slots silly goose.
Again some ppl are into that which us why i point it out. Sweaty neckbeards dont have issues buying the game only for that.
Some games use nudity as a selling point and BG3 surely went that route. Pretty much like blade & souls. BG3 went even further than pretty much any previous games in that route.
The game is a failure due the poor Itemization
One of the worst itemization that i found in any kind of Rpg i played …
Even Torchlight 3 another big failure has way better itemization than D4
I’d have it passable in the genre.
For the cost it needed to be better than a Neocore offering. It didn’t really pull that off. Neocore’s are far from perfect. but at this point they are cheap. And I’d have battle sister dlc worth its price on release last year (pc), this year (console).
BG3 is being downloaded now. A good number of recent positive reviews have good bye, d4, in the body of them.
Sometimes I buy games new on steam. Today was that day. And it was BG3 lol.
If D4 had a 3 year early access, you think there’d be less anger toward Blizzard?
So far in every fght in BG3 I used “nuke them all” strategie and so far it’s working. Who needs placement ?
No, imo.
The craptacular drop rates were not seen in beta. They needed it to drop to have players use it to test.
Its the live version they choke(d) out drop rates. Also we never saw eternal grind of doom as the endgame in beta. Which does not work with the MMO inspired angle they were shooting for. Even MMO’s end. All raid tier set completed. yay! chill to next season/phase.
I watched the most boring d4 video earlier.
Then i watched a PoE where the guy appeared to clear like 5 rooms almost instantly.
BG3 is great you probably just lack the attention span to under turn based strategy games.
Because they are both video games released this year.
What more do you need?
BG3 for hardcore larping DandD nerds it has no good qualities as a game.
To be fair though, money talks. Too many comparisons are being made to what small companies (not talking about Lariat and BG3) who spend a decade working on a game, who are crowd funded to deliver a good game and have all of the time in the world.
Once big business gets involved, things get far more complicated and they can’t spend 10 years on a game anymore. Investors wont stay invested if they dont see products being released, and with over 9000 contributing individuals on Diablo 4, at some point you need to make money. This isnt charity work.
Despite how great BG3 is, Diablo 4 has already been the money printing machine that was expected and its silly to think they make games for “fun”, fueled by passion.
Gone are the days where game developing was for hobbyists and passionate people. This happens to most professionals in most careers, where they select roles and get into roles where again, money talks.
Because “why can’t my triple A game be an indie game”? That’s literally it, there’s no substance to the comparison whatsoever. There’s some arguments about soul and not “selling out”. That is what those developers decided to do, and it’s unrealistic to expect that of the Diablo franchise and Blizzard, and they know it, but they just want to deny it over some principle.
Diablo 4 can and will improve, and the developers look really invested to me, are putting themselves out there, and it’s still somehow not enough.
I just think these people making these statements are just not hardcore gamers at all.
I feel a lot of the younger crew won’t have the patience to play Baldurs gate and read
Because it’s an RPG. Because it’s part of a series that started around the same time Diablo did. Because it came out very soon after Diablo 4. Because it’s at the diametrically opposite pole of quality/soul as Diablo 4. The comparisons were inevitable.
We really think Diablo 4 is a low quality game?
