If we can’t carry them over to next Hell Tides, shouldn’t we be able to turn in aberrant cinders for gem shards, crafting mats, or even better have them convert automatically into gold or some such thing of value. It seems a waste after spending the time to collect them, for the unused cinders to just disappear. Wouldn’t it help devs fill a gap for those seasons when there’s a shortage of things we need they didn’t anticipate, like iron chunks, veiled crystals, forgotten souls, rawhide, etc. Anyway, just hate seeing things go unused that can be useful. We have to farm them, anyway, no matter when you stop. Expands the economy.
What do you think?
You should only collect the cinders to unlock all the chests… if you have unused cinders that means that
- You killed to many monsters and you have too many left over (should of unlocked the hell tide chests)
- You ran out of time (you have to manage your time better)
- Your too slow (not saying You)
And I’m sure plenty more but I’m too tired to list any more.
I don’t think it’s a big enough deal to the point where the game just give you things if you don’t use it such as this. The game (to many) is too easy as is.

The only reason you have so many left over is that they massively buffed the drop rate (to the point of absurdity) recently.
I’m sure it will be re-adjusted later.
My theory is they’re just throwing us a bone to alleviate the issue we’re all feeling with ancestral drop rates. By giving us enough cinders to unlock literally every chest in every active Helltide zone well before the timer is done, they’re essentally giving us more spins at the wheel.
hmm i dont really see a problem with that. personally i collect as many as i want/need and am done with a helltide.
I thought it was just part of the event that they dropped way more.
Oh is that right? I mean, it sounds right, it was pretty bonkers. So that would make a lot more sense (if it was just a very short term thing).
