Why are they removing Seasonal content from Eternal realm?

I will purchase seasons regardless of the eternal realm being FUN and GOOD to play. I for one want to revisit my designs and builds, and gear, and memories there once 'n a while.

Why are you kicking us in the teeth with patch 1.1 pre season1, and then saying everything we spend time on in season1 will dissolve at the end of it?

It makes it very hard to justify keeping this game installed after season1.

Why would you do that? They aren’t for sale.

Because that’s how seasons work.

Does anyone look into anything they buy any more?

Only the hearts and codex additions go away

No, actually, that’s how they HAVE worked.

Imagine if people looked at a horse and said, well we don’t ever need a car, whatever that is, because horses are all we have ever needed.

Such a failure in your line of thinking.

The only things that i recall we were able to keep in D3 were legendary gems. And of course any primals we found. The point of seasons in D3 is to try different things with your favorite class depending on the seasonal theme. Or try playing a class that you have not played yet. I think it will be similar here on D4. They may yet come out with something we can take with us to the eternal realm. Just have to wait and see.

You lose the season-unique features because there will assumedly be others in future seasons, and making all of the season-unique features work together into perpetuity will be completely unbalanceable unless you want them to be significantly tamer than even the hearts are.

Like, imagine the complexity of 5 seasons’ worth of unique mechanics. 10? 20? It’d be problematic to make it all work together, to say the least.

That isn’t even a little close to the same thing.

Yes and how we all knew seasons would work in Diablo 4 from the very start.

Gems, Legendary Gems, gear, paragon points, basically anything that wasn’t directly tied to the season theme got sent to you at the end of the season.

no, actually thats how they STILL work and will work.

you cant add mechanic over mechanic into the eternal realm. you get to keep gear. kodex and hearts will go. Simple as that.

Correction. That’s how poorly designed seasons work.

you’re not supposed to play eternal

It is 100% intentional and most likely the result of their misguided monetization schemes.

If we want things to change, we need to stop throwing money at them until we get what we want.

Unfortunately there are enough dumb people to support the current direction Blizzard is taking.

Replying to Salan:

I appreciate where you are coming from, but the truth is, Season game play as it is now and has been, even with D3, needs to be re-thought and re-created to be more fun and rewarding for all players. There is no reason for Season game play other than to get a few achievements and rewards, (cosmetics etc.), only to grind in D4 boring buggy hell all over again. At least in Diablo 3 Blizzard got it right, and it is far more enjoyable to play! - With Diablo 4, it is an absolute boring, dull and buggy disaster! And I purchased the Ultimate Edition.

Let’s just hope the Blizzard D4 Team and Management do the right thing by all players and fix and improve Diablo IV, sooner than later. Because right now, Diablo IV is an epic disaster filled with bugs and problems more than any other Blizzard game in history, and it is very much still in BETA!

Even Diablo IV’s new Season game play has awful bugs. For example: Answers in the Ashes which is part of the main quest line for seasons is bugged! When a player kills Varshan - nothing happens and the player is stuck in the boss room. Many players are currently affected by this, myself included, and cannot progress further until it is fixed.

This is similar to the awful bug in Capstone Dungeons as many remember when we were in the middle of the fight with the boss, the boss would disappear and leave the player in limbo and unable to progress in the game. It is clear the Blizzard D4 Team Devs / Programmers are not good, and with the recent mass-nerf it clearly shows Blizzard needs a NEW solid team that actually knows how to fix and improve the game! The Blizzard Devs / Programmers even admitted they don’t know how to add more than one extra Stash storage tab in D4 without affecting performance in the game! That says a lot, and clearly shows why we are seeing such awful bugs and problems with D4! And we all paid for this broken, buggy beta game, that was recently mass nerfed and made worse! Epic fail by Blizzard screwing over players, big time! Unreal!

“Bec this is how seasons work” what a terrible and untrue argument.

In 2013 an indi developer launched their first game at the same time Blizzard launched D3 before in D2 seasons meant ladder resets and maybe a ladder only runeword. Over the years GGG implemented leagues bringing a whole new aspect to the game, Blizzard stuck to its ladder reset philosophy while GGG added core mechanics that were league mechanics to their base game during this time POE gained in popularity while D3 declined eventually adding in such memorable mechanics like stash space and grifts. Judging from historical record which game mechanic became more successful Blizzards or GGG’s?

But, it’s not? Like be as mad about is as you want, but don’t outright lie man.

Um how does the evolution of horse and buggy to automobiles match how seasons work in a video game. Get a grip.

No you’re 100 wrong. Diablo 2 didn’t do seasons this gerbage way nor did path of exile. Also the devs said that they would expan on the base game Bec it’s a live service game.
Don’t try to use some garbage take like “well it’s always been this way” firstly it’s a trash argument and secondly like I said above it’s not true.

The genre has evolved over the years, it’s time blizzard actually did the same.

To waste time developing a season around borrowed power is just dumb. The game as it is now has zero end game. It’s only logical to follow GGG’s philosophy and use seasons to add content to the base game. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it.
Stop defending bad designs.

Because if they added the new mechanics back into Eternal then people would have a reason to play Eternal to see all the fun ways the various seasonal mechanics could be mixed and matched and Blizzard doesn’t want you playing Eternal.

They didn’t remove anything from the eternal realm.
