Why are there so many White Knighting for Blizzard?

This is kinda shocking honestly, call a spade a spade. The game is incomplete it lacks end game replayability. The World Bosses are absolutely pointless. The told us we would be able to play our way our own builds but that was a lie there are just a few builds that are actually viable. The charge you $70-100 for a game then expect you to pay for a battle pass every season. I understand that a business is there to make money> But judging from the old titles blizzard has as far back as I can remember blizzard actually had passion for the games. I dont see that anymore in any of their current titles it just seems as if nobody actually gives a crap. Even in WoW from Vanilla to Cataclysm they had passion for the games and you know the devs actually played the game. I am done rambling. For those who sit and white knight and simp for blizzard wake up they really don’t give a crap about you. They got your money and thats all.

Dude what is with the claim white knights are everywhere? There are FAR more negative posts than positives and negative threads also tend to be highly upvoted. The fact is DAY ONE BASE GAME this has had more content and more of an endgame than any other game in the series. Heck any ARPG opening day period. It’s not blizz’s fault a bunch of no life losers got sick of it after popping in 100 hours in under a week.

It’s just the typical copout when they get challenged on their views or someone disagrees with them.

Add it to the list of countless other terms forum trolls overuse out of context like “gaslighting,” “unironically,” and “simp.”

People defend things they feel agency toward or like. A lot of people got really hyped for this title release and feel like any criticism is an attack on their latest hobby. I don’t think the game is the worst thing ever but it is totally valid and fair to criticize all the things that a game in 2023 doesn’t have. But see even me saying this will lead someone to call me a whiner or entitled. Like guys, diablo 2 classic had more functionality when it comes to socialization. I don’t think I am off the mark here. Just as with the people who go too far and act like their lives are forever changed by a mid arpg release, you also have to ignore the nutzos who go full doom pill.

Shareholders tbh.

They think because the own a single share of stock, they have to rally whenever anyone tells the truth on the forums.

Why are there so many White Knighting for Blizzard?

Maybe some people who like the game just want to talk with other players who like the game without having to deal with all of the Karens, complainers and crybabies who overrun the forum everyday. :sob:

Quit white knighting for the white knights!

A lot of people just don’t agree the game is as bad as y’all keep crying about. It has issues. Some serious issues. But if you’re unable to get any joy out of it, you might as well quit. The game isn’t going to see drastic changes quickly. It will take several months to see the kinds of improvement people want.

Ya know… if we’re being honest… we’re all just here because we love to argue, plain and simple, whichever side you represent.

Really, what does even mean to be a “white knight” these days? I’ve been called one for explaining a quest. Wasn’t defending the story or anything, just giving details for it. I don’t know anymore.

blizzard always has undercover employees post on the forums constantly. you can easily identify them, because it doesnt matter what valid thing you say, they will side with blizzard 100% of the time.

I think part of it is that we have young gamers who weren’t here gaming before the Activision merger. They don’t know better. These scummy practices and lack of innovation are all they know. They don’t know what it was like when Blizzard was a highly respectable, highly innovative, and pioneering video game dev. All they know is the grotesquerie that is Activision Blizzard.

I see way more negative posts but the thing is that its not even constructive feedback but just trolling and immature behavior so personally i try not to bother on most topics but anyway…

If your focus is to beat NM 100 then yeah but even then i see so many video’s there are players who seem to complete it with bad builds. I so far have not any problems beating atleast NM 31 with any build i tried. As long there is not something locked behind a certain lvl then i dont see a reason why anyone should care for perfect balance. I can get a shako at 31 NM so i dont need to bother with 100 NM.

If you care for cosmetics then that is a thing i guess.

I am not really a white knight for Blizzard since there is a lot i dislike them for things that happen. But people who try to have constructive discussions or even give a glimpse they like some portions of the game are bombarded by hate, so i feel its more the other way around. I am not saying that there are bad apples on that side too.

But the lack of actual good constructive criticism feedback is really rare, i might have found 3 worthy that actually explains everything what they don’t like and i even agree with them. Sadly most “feedback” is just a few lines of sentences where people just act really immature.

I hope this is just a bad troll attempt like shareholders… wth…

Typical negative post : “endgame is awful because I don’t get any good loot today. Blizzard never tested this game, they just want to steal our money. How can they spend 10 years and make me spend $100 dollars and extra money on battle passes to play a game with only 200 hours of content per character and only 2-3 viable builds per class and only 5 classes?”

Typical ‘white knight’ response: “They should add more chase items and challenges in WT4,
buff more builds, like summoner Necro or fire Sorc, and maybe even implement this cool idea I had… but I already got way more fun than I paid for, they are going to keeping making seasonal stuff for free, and I still have 3 or 4 more builds I really want try out.”

Typical negative poster response: “Get your mouth off Blizzard’s junk you white knight shill. This game garbage and you know it.”

Beacause you had to make a separate post for attention when someone else has already made this post. People are enjoying the game. You might not be. Go find a game you like why do you linger on forums of a game yo hate. seems mental.

Because did you see what happened to the black knight? Nobody wants to end up like that ;_;

He has a valid point that is more than easy to back up, and further driven home by your derp response.

As a 26 year vet to diablo franchise, D4 has more going for it out of the gate than D1, D2 or D3 had at launch. D2 had spam farming bosses and no cow level at launch. Hitting max level took MONTHS. D3 didn’t have greater rifts at launch… just bounties and boss spamming.

D4 essentially retried to use the D3 vanilla itemization/difficulty concept. While they did it better than D3, it just isnt what players want. They tried something “new,” and now, just like in D2 and D3, they’ll fix things. Wont happen over night. They already said pre-launch that major overhauls and fixes would take 1-2 seasons due to internal testing.

Itemization is probably the biggest issue for D4 right now, followed by class/skill balance(which could be alleviated further with better itemization), and then better end game loop(not loot). Then you have some QoL stuff like mount speed and gem stash.

These type of things were big problems in D2 and D3 too. D3 was by far the WORST AAA game launch I had ever played, due to the difficulty curve going into nightmare act 2. Rares were better than 99% of legendaries. You OFTEN found rares and legendaries with useless stats not appropriate for your class. D3 EVENTUALLY flourished into a pretty good game(still not as good as D2 LoD was imo).

So circling back… D4 has more going for it. I spent $80 on this game, have gotten probably 200 hours out of it so far, and looking forward to season 2 when hopefully the major stuff starts to get fixed. Only downside is Starfield will be out by then. I’ll play season 1 to complete the battlepass, simply for the cosmetics though, but I wont be pushing to cap any classes unless its required to complete the BP.
