You can argue whether or not Blizzard’s MTX strategy for D4 is good or bad. You can argue whether or not the sets are too expensive. What you can’t argue is that damn near every set on the shop looks bad.
The Necromancer “Wraith Lord” set is the only set worth considering in my view. It costs 2800 platinum, or about $28 USD. The cost being fair or foul, that’s debatable…but it looks awesome.
You can get better looking transmogs from in-game drops for every other class. Presumably, Blizzard wants to make money in this shop. Where’s the cool 2800 platinum armor sets for other classes? Coming in Season 1?

Most of the sets are just reskins/recolors of existing sets. They said on one of the live streams that the shop with release is a bit paired down and basic. Expect more once season 1 arrives.

Though, nice indirect suggestion making free stuff ugly, so shop-stuff gets sold. 
There have been a few interesting looking ones. But not ones that I would pay for (at least not at the price they are selling for).

I don’t actually feel like I need anything on the store at the moment, other than the 6.99 deal that I might buy. If they keep making these cosmetics so over-the-top weird looking, I’ll never need to complain about the price. My necro is actually mogged to the basic tunic with (I think) weathered pants. The rest are all basic. I like the look.
It’s telling that I haven’t seen a single person in game sporting one of these. I don’t exactly hate a few of them, but I don’t like them to the tune of 25 bucks even remotely. I will continue to look basic, my only issue is I haven’t really gotten anything new to look at in quite a few levels. Just got a new scythe (which is my favorite so far) but haven’t had a fresh piece of armor in like 10 levels. Maybe when I get past the campaign it’ll change up.
To be fair, that is the ONLY one I got… because I can’t pass up a deal no matter what it is.
If it says sale or discount my wallet flies open.

Totally. The only store mounts I have in wow are ones that were half off.
I have seen a few of the Wraithlord Necros and I think one of the Sorc set that has eyes all over the helm. A few of the instore mounts and mount armors too. But nothing else really.

I’m glad to see that there is a decent amount of cosmetics and mounts that drop from gameplay. I’ve had two mounts (maybe 3?, not in game right now) and a couple of trophies drop. So it makes not wanting to purchase stuff from the shop easier.

This. And to be fair…for body type 1 and 2.
All should get their eye candy. Lest we forget…Conan has killed 1000’s…wearing a loin cloth and maybe something to cover his feet up. And that is it. Rocks do hurt the feet after all lol.
