Why are so many obsessed with leveling?

Am I the only one that just does whatever? If I level up, cool, if I don’t, cool. I just play the game? Like what’s the point of blasting to level cap? What do you envision you’re going to do when you have nothing left to do? Stop and smell the roses, people. It’s a game.

Ok… just for simplicity I’ll use PvP as the first example. I’m running through TWO major zones of the game and everyone is flagged… Tree of Whisper events and dailies are there… How you plan on taking out the other lvl 100’s?? Do tell us…

Avoid those areas and objectives? LoL good solution….

It became practice to race to level cap since way back. Can’t say I agree with it.

I think it stems from lack of creativity, in terms of how to add competitive aspects into the diablo franchise. To provide another playerbase metric to sell copies. Thus first to 100 hardcore became a thing, with leaderboards.

People like to brag, and hold achievements. They basically capitalized on it. Plus in almost every game. Character power is tied to level, skill choices etc. So the more you have the more fun it is usually. Faster to fun is almost always more fun, but it does have downsides. Like burnout, or content consumption.

An interesting creative note:
Haven’t done much research. But It would be interesting to see a game where you actually start at cap, and work backwards and devolve your character. Thus game getting harder as you de-level. Just a creative thought. Would be interesting to see how some people could make this fun, and entertaining in the game space. Could make for some interesting choices along the way, like hmm what do I get rid of… It’s such a backwards thinking idea, I think it could be a hit. If it’s implemented right.

So i want lvl at good peace farm a little lvl 100 see if i can improve my build than move to a other game and than come back for a few weeks for the next season !

If i wanted a mmo i would play a mmo, i would add !

I also don’t really care about all the XP stuff. I’m gonna get there eventually.

I just want there to be interesting items to find and no rock carrying and prisoner freeing.

Sounds like you actually don’t want to play so why torture yourself

But you don’t have to hit 100 to stop playing, so what’s the point of focusing on blasting your way past all the fun?

You just want like a hallway?

No i want play a few week max every season, and i want play many game not only a single one !

but yeah, let’s put word in my mouth and not read what i actually wrote huh ?

what you mean ? the fun in hack & slash for me, its hack & slash mob & lvl to get stronger that is !

So you can get paragon board power and also so you can make alts. That’s what is so important about it. Most games you get to max then work on getting best gear you can for toons. Here it is farm while you level which means sink all that time to get power. That’s why it’s important to get to max hurry and get to max so I can make another class. But I want my first toon To have paragon unlocked first so they are strong. No one wants 5 level 60’s because you never get the full experience of how the class works plays because you have tons of paragon to farm.

Because the are tilted …get it.

If you are a casual not all we are , my main game is d4 i waited years for this game , and most games out there are bad , only good game was Elden Ring and now you have to wait 10 years more to get one same as good

Leveling is basically the only thing to work toward after level 50ish. Get to T4 and you’re going to have most of your gear by level 60, upgrading once in a blue moon after that. If you’re not chasing loot to get stronger, then the only thing left to chase for power is levels and the paragon nodes that come with them.

I’m not a casual per any mean !

I’m married with 2 kids, but with my passive income, i can play 6 to 8h a days without blink… its just i don’t want play the same game over & over !

i started with D1, in lan and finished the game in one night with all my friend ! and i too waited D4, its not a reason for playing only 1 game to me !

PVP will be the RMAH of Diablo 4.

If you alt and skip the campaign level 1 to 50 is just filling in talents points and the gear just boring as it don’t define builds at all.

50 to 100 is the only real increase in power as it defeats the super armor on mobs as we slowly fill in pargon boards, get glyphs, build defending gear, threats etc.

The problem that 1 to 100 is boring as the combat pace don’t picks up till level 50 and then the exp slows down after it. We just repeat the same content over and over just looking for drops and that’s about it.

I wish they made this mock MMO with endgame content that’s grindy like POE than thinking this pace of leveling is super fun.

That’s the way to play OP! Avoid guides, avoid metas, play how we played in the 80s and 90s. Explore and have fun!

So, just hack and slash mobs and enjoy it? What’s the problem?
