Why are many people complaining about seasons?

I’m only level 12-13 in diablo 3, but I had read that you also start from scratch in seasons. now i’m wondering why people are complaining that diablo 4 is the same. even if some progress will be carried over (dont know how it is in diablo 3).

I don’t understand the criticism when the system has always been like this. are that people, who are new to diablo franchise (like me) and have no clue about the games?

diablo 3 was exponentially faster, hell one max level person could run you through rifts with leveling gems and you would hit level 50 within an hour half hour if your partner was going ham. diablo 4 is A LOT slower.

I don’t mind seasons, I just don’t think that forcing them makes any sense.

Just make it Ladder / Non-Ladder, and let everyone enjoy the new seasonal content. There’s no good reason to arbitrarily gatekeep the new content (that we all paid for) behind Ladder.

Seasons are free what are you talking about? You paid for the eternal realm. The seasons are free bonuses that you can choose to opt into or not.

They’re not free. They are developed using the money we all spend on purchasing the game and/or cosmetics.

Sorry for the question because it’s the Diablo 4 forum and not Diablo 3 forum. But how much exp bonus is that?

i saw you can make in d3 3 characters to an season character. Does that mean i can create 1 season character and if i got him at max level, i can make 3 other season characters and all will get the exp bonus?

entitled casual andy who never played arpg expecting it to be like destinty or some some mmo game

D3 didn’t have MMO chores like renown and the leveling experience was good.

The obvious solution to players wanting battle-passes that aren’t attached to seasonal resets:

Create a lower tier of battle pass. Charge less for it, and it includes fewer rewards.
And then don’t budge an inch when non-seasonal players cry that they blew through the content too quickly and want more. Tell them to play the season or bust, they got their casual battle-pass, they can sit with it and be happy. It’s what they wanted, after all.

You right - it was just trash in other ways

bro this is the most asinine logic i’ve ever read. you got COSMETICS when you buy the cosmetics. Just because they use that to fund the seasons doesn’t mean you’re owed the season because you bought cosmetics. You paid for the cosmetic and you got the cosmetic. The money you spent on purchasing the game bought you the game you’re playing right now that is going nowhere and is also getting free updates along with the seasons. You’re so entitled it’s ridiculous.

There’s no such thing as free lunch, child.

Even if we follow your logic that the new seasonal content is “free” (even though you paid for its development), then that still prompts the question:

Why is new content arbitrarily gatekept behind Ladder instead of available to all players?

If you buy the battlepass :sunglasses:

lmao you’re calling me a child while claiming you’re owed seasons because you were stupid enough to buy overpriced cosmetics. you’re the one asking for a free lunch, not me. You ain’t owed anything, bruh. You made a trade. Money for cosmetic. That’s the totality of the trade. If they then use that money from that trade to buy a boat you can’t demand rights to use it three weekends out of the year. That’s literally the “logic” falling out of your head right now.

I haven’t even purchased any cosmetics. You’re not even capable of following this discussion with adequate reading comprehension, let alone providing a valid line of reasoning.

the entitlement is strong with this one

Yeah you didn’t literally make the argument that buying cosmetics entitles you to a season or anything. You’re dishonest, but I’m not surprised considering the crap you’ve been saying. Whether you actually bought cosmetics personally is irrelevant. That’s the argument you made and the one I’m disemboweling.

Any money that anybody spends at any point on this game, including the money for the original purchase, is used to fund the development of seasonal content. If you can’t understand that, then you’re choosing to be willfully and childishly ignorant for the sake of argument.

Choosing to be ignorant on purpose is no way to go through life, son.

The valid complaints about seasons in D4 are that S1 is launching too soon(something I agree with), seasons in D4 are too short, and some people don’t want to redo every single side quest every season.

The outright delusional complaints are that Blizzard somehow deceived people about the battlepass only being good for seasons, and this is an outright lie. Blizzard said it was a seasonal battlepass from the beginning. Also people claiming that seasons have “no place in a Diablo game.” Another outright lie.
