I really dont understand why items are account bound , if we want the game to have a bustling economy and trade feature why cant we sell all items , i can craft a gigachad item and make money from it.
I know POE has its problems too but its economy is light years ahead of D4 1
All items except Ubers are tradable. I’m not sure what you’re asking for here? Make them tradable even after you’ve made changes to it? Binding stuff to you is a good model. It forces you to decide, doni want to keep this powerful item for myself or do I want to make some gold. Can’t have your cake and eat it.
i think that a possibility of trading ubers is ok. Cuz let’s be fair they are not that uber anymore. I have like 10 or even more this season i don’t actually need so much sparks. If i could sell it it will be ok.
And i think that tempered items should be tradeble too, cuz if you failed on tampering that at least you can probably sell it to others who are using different builds.
Because this is not Wall Street. It is a Diablo game, Killing monster and looting them is the whole point of this game. Not staring at some digital ticker tape to see what crap is selling for.
The problem is scammers and cheats thrive in a trading scenario. Everyone loved the idea of an Auction House in D3 but the experience was ruined by corruption. Unfortunately there are bad people who ruin things for everyone.
So, You think people should have a choice to “buy” items and still brick them, Or get the items for free and maybe brick them? I know what my choice is.
There was also a gold AH, and it was far more problematic for the game because it meant that getting gold and buying items on the AH was a far more efficient route than finding them as drops. And that meant that drops became meaningless the moment you opened the AH.
Having items bind on craft is a great way to keep the economy flowing. If all items could be traded at all times, then any item put into the economy would just keep circulating. Someone would buy it, use it to get more gold, then sell it on when they had enough to buy an upgrade. That would flood the market and suppress prices like it did in D3 to the point where drops and crafting both became meaningless except at the ultra top end.
Tradeable items means people don’t actually have to play the game any longer. They can just start a “Trader” class, buy all the best gear and just show it off instead of actually playing the game. Does that affect me personally? No, not really, since this game doesn’t have shared loot on drops like other games did, especially with raid bosses. But it makes the game pay to win and that is never a good thing.
Tradeable loot is so stupid. --see what I did there?
You weren’t playing D3 at launch were you? The D3 forums were screaming with people demanding they remove the AH and go to a self-found only system. I have a well paying job with lots of disposable income. The best items on the AH were going for $250.00 and I was spending 3 - 4K a year playing Diablo. Gold and gear drops were sparse and you had to go to the AH if you wanted BIS which made people who could not afford the prices mad (very mad). I liked the RMAH but I understand why they removed it and gold and gear drops improved greatly.
Blizzards profits from the AH was just income and they paid the taxes on that income like all the rest of their income. It was something Blizzards accountants took care of. The real problem were the players who were demanding change.
The gold AH was removed because it was experiencing similar problems to the RMAH. People were botting gear and gold, duplicating that gear and gold, and selling both for RM just like what is going on in 3rd party sites today.
