I have no issue with a body type. The problem is forcing an entire class to be that. The body types should be available for all classes. Then you can make a Druid that looks like a Barb or a Rouge and vise versa.
The issue is forcing people to fit your vision, rather than providing multiple vision options and letting people choose the vision they resonate with. Same issue with the over-powered meta. Here you need to choose the class/power that is the meta and the meta rotates with patches/seasons. Whereas making all builds viable, lets people choose what they like rather than to be forced into something the devs want to promote each cycle. I really hate the “cross my fingers” and hope the build I like and class I play is meta this season.
If the company can get past this issue of controlling options to force people to conform to their vision and start providing a variety of equally viable options that people can select from, the game will continue to grow. If not, it will slowly die. However, this may just be a continuation of their DEI initiatives and player choice will never be an option for this company, even if some devs want it.
Forcing people to succumb to a vision has always historically lead to failures. No idea why Blizzard and society is trying to use control to create freedom and choice. It does not work for either side of the spectrum and yet each side clings to this concept. This concept has never and will never work in the end.
