Esteemed Developers, I got a question for you.
How come every other class can do noticeable and viable amounts of DoT damage, but Poison Imbuement stays in a gutter?
Firebolt/firewall sorcs have good scaling with both intelligence and crit damage.
Bleed barbarians literally do BARBILLIONS of damage to both groups of monsters and bosses, thanks to their double-dipping shenanigans (see Rob2628 content for reference).
Even Druids can stack considerable amounts of Poisoning with Wind Shear spam.
And yet, somehow, a class that’s supposed to have the strongest poison in the game can only do any noticeable amount of Poisoning damage with Andariel’s Visage procs (see Xarrio content for reference).
We get it, Poison used to be really strong and the meta should be shifted from time to time.
But lest you forget, some classes literally one-shot tormented uber bosses.
And you still think that buffing Poison Imbuement will cause a problem?
You literally answered your own question.
I’m guessing blizzard tried to make it the season of rapid fire, but then allowed victimise to double dip for 3.5 times more damage than it should. The rest is history.

Well, if by “shifting the meta” devs meant razing the existing builds to the ground and then pigeonholing us into playing according to their own vision of the class, then yeah, they’ve done a fine job. The meta is indeed shifted.
I think Poison Imbuement is fine-ish, I didn’t bother building/testing but I am fairly certain you can make a PI RF/Barrage build that can get to at least Tier 80 in the PIT. To me, the issue is atm is that PI is best used with CQC. So with Flurry and TB currently not worth, why would you play RF/Barrage without Precision or in my case RF without Victimize. If CQC gets appropriate buffs and ideally TB as well, I think PI will resurface.
why do you thinl cold/shadow imbuement in better than poison? I use poison and feels good.
I use it too. And if you compare you poison ticks to a corresponding ticks of other classes or even andariel’s you’ll see that PI is in a deep gutter.
Cold Imbuement has a 20x multiplier for frozen enemies and against staggered bosses.
Shadow Imbuement has solid AOE and you can choose to use it for Crit against injured and Vuln procs. You can even go the non-physical 10x multiplier route now that Tempers allow for high imbued uptime.

yes but I think base damage of PI is much higher than others. I have PI at level 9 and of I remember correctly it says apply 200% of base dsmage as poisoning.
a ok, but you can not compare it like this. maybe compare overall what a poison rogue can do vs a poison druid…

Sure, but those are not the imbuements i’m talking about.
Like, have you used poison imbuement this or the previous season?
Have you seen poison ticks?
Were they in billions like bleed ticks from barbs?
Maybe hundreds of millions like andariel builds this season?
Pretty sure the answer is no.

I have played poison multiple times which is why I am confident they can at least get to Tier 80 comfortably (which imo is not that great). and my reply was to Danutz post, hence the mention of other imbuements and why they may be more played than poison.

Ah, I see.
Well, I’m farming 80s as a TB poison rogue. I can probably do t100 with some luck and effort. But damage is just not there. 15m poison ticks are a joke to a boss with several billions of HP.

really?? I tought TB can not go over pit 50 now
We can. It’s just rough. And certain elite affixes/monster families are almost impossible to deal with.
