Why are they talking about making an expansion when it feels like they have already given up on the game?
Money of course lol.
But I thought everyone quit and no one plays D4 any more.
Pretty much. Also the expansion is scheduled for 2026, so you got a whole year+ to decide if you will or will not buy it.
I think I will get a copy of the base 2nd expansion for every member of the “Cult of the GOAT.”
I just hope they hire a team of writers. Not the VoH “writers”.
I know some players who know more about Diablo lore compared to some of the people who work on the game.
They give up on it till the mid season patch then they give up on it again until next season.
For whom though, lol? After VoH, I feel like nothing changed and stuff has some how managed to get worse. They are acknowledging there are bugs and issues, but they seem to be like "yeah we’ll worry about that another time, in the meantime here’s a repackaged expansion, that is only half to a quarters worth of a season.
Heh, all these people saying they Won’t buy it… they are gonna buy it. It’s same people who said they wasn’t gonna buy VoH, …but they bought VoH. Let’s not kid ourselves here.
So does this mean you won’t be buying the expansion then or continue to play the game?
Maybe he does not want the expansion so no one should have it.
I don’t think they’ve given up on the game, but some of their talk has definitely given the impression that they’re struggling to be ambitious with its improvements by deepening the gameplay. I suspect they may feel a little defeated after releasing the game with a bit of a real grind and a touch of tactical play and having players do nothing but complain about it. I think they took some of the wrong lessons of course, and it would be great if they went back to something closer to the launch state but with better progression, but we’ll see what happens with this next expansion. Still, would be nice if they added some major feature beforehand so that people could see they’re actually trying to innovate.
that sweet juicy pre-order monies is way to hard to resist.
Roadmap coming in April, hopefully we’ll get some idea of what they have planned for the future of the game. I don’t even care about the details for the next expansion, just tell me what the plans are for the game right now.
Dont kid yourself, you’ll be hitting that pre-order button hard once its out.
How much they improve this game right now will effect the future expansion’s sales. The more stale and dull this game currently becomes to people who have been playing for 7 seasons and the pre season duration the more people are going to quit.
Blizzard DOES need to be aware of this. Make the game good now, so you can make more money in the future.
an expansion could increase the chances of more bugs, securing their $10k-per-month salaries with never-ending bug fixes job security in this layoff era.
Yeah, really hoping it’s got some actual heft to it. Definitely more concerned about how our gameplay systems get improved than what they do with the expansion story at this point. I made the mistake of getting a little excited about the first expansion, but after no real changes to how our characters work and a campaign story that ended half-finished, I really don’t care about the campaign much at all so long as we get to kill a couple primes. I just want some new skills, a bunch more depth to skill customization, the return of the cube, gems that aren’t garbage, a stash that isn’t super limiting, and they can figure out the rest.
Why preorder a digital game?
