No idea about many other classes. But unless you forego Skeletons and Golems entirely, Necromancer loses 2/6 for that alone. It feels like we’re so incredibly limited in what we’re allowed to do and change in the game.
MMOs and button fetishists…
We only got 10 fingers, half which is already dedicated to our muse for either targeting and movement.
Ohh no bro
Cause after the mandatory generator
After the mandatory spender.
The mandatory move skill
The Mandatory big cooldown hitter…
The Mandatory Defense buff.
Thou have one whole option to customize !!
Just think of the possibility.
Mice with extra buttons exist, also some such as “Ultimates” are often times on CD for an extended duration. And I see you’re conveniently ignoring that even the most basic mouse comes with two buttons already.
Following your logic, I wonder why the keyboard has so many buttons. People only have five finger for it anyway!
Idk if there’s more than 6 slots then might as well be POE.
Some classes have even fewer. For Necromancer for example Skeletons take up one unless you forego them entirely. As does
Yeah for Necro and Druid, it is a pain. But I usually forgo skelies, and keep Golem.
Right now I am trying to get skellies to work so I sacrificed Golem.
Experience the game properly before you start saying that 6 skill slots is weak.
With aspects my rogue actually has 8 skills (6 + 1 add on smoke grenade on Dash + 1 lucky hit Shadow Shroud) with NO basic skill.
Diablo has plenty of versatility in builds and I am going to have 2 archer builds soon in 1 character (one for easy farming and 1 for versatality+pvp).
League of Legends is the most played game of all time with a 4 skill and “gear aspect” system…
(Incoming “this is an ARPG…” from some random person who couldn’t form a good arguement to save a life).
You have to think about the console plebs
I didnt play diablo 1-3 did they also only have 6?
eh. The only change I think is necessary here is that Ultimate Skills need their own keybind so they don’t take up a space on the skill bar.
RB+LB is the basic standard for Controller in games that have Ultimate Skills. Diablo should do that. and whatever the standard is for M/KB for Ultimates. As a general rule, I no longer play PC games that don’t have Native Controller Support, so I wouldn’t know.
Otherwise, I’m good with the amount of skill slots we have.
I altered my build to not have a spender due to this, and although I miss the spender at times, it’s more fun. D3 only had 6, but that doesn’t mean D4 should be limited to it. If D4 wants to be a more expansive game, then at least giving us an ultimate slot would make sense…
Even without my spender I find myself wanting that extra button.
i thought the 6 ability thing was so nothing could get too out of hand
like its easier to balance around char only have 6 at a time
apparently that went out the window anyways
While going overboard would be a concern, we really do need at least one more bind for proper feeling builds. The build I have is full ranged (rogue), but lacks an ultimate because I have nowhere to put it. I have my basic attack, rapid fire/barrage (depending on situation), Dash, and Concealment. The current setup is unfortunately quite restricting and really does feel like it was designed for consoles, despite the fact consoles can easily accomodate an eight bind situation as seen by the original PoE design before they killed force stand still for a forced 12 bind option.
Really, just one more available bind option would be a massively welcome feature.
Yeah anyone would agree that about 90 percent of the game the skills that are bound to 1-4 are on cd. Leaving you with a spender/generator(besides rogue of course) that’s why the game feels the way it does.
Plays a rogue
Thinks buttons are too many
My favourite moba only has 4!
Playing `with a controller too?
It’s for balance purposes. Imagine a barb that could run: Charge, leap, 3 shouts, ironskin, wrath of the berserker and then also run a build ontop of that. It’d be insane
Yes, if you want to run summons, you have to actually use up skill slots to do so. Similarly, if a sorc wants to run chain lightning, they have to actually use up skill slots to do so
i think this is your first Diablo game
You somehow think that because you are some WoW player pressing 10 odd passives or actives and learned to play the “piano of the meta mmo” that you’re better than casuals?
I’m not a casual, I’ve played korean mmo’s and Ultima Online from 2001. I play 2 of the hardest characters in Tekken 7 Lee and Armor King at 10% of the rankings, I played Black Desert PvP WASD sweat lording it from day 1 launch on a Warrior skill cancelling like a mad man.
…I can’t believe a complete scrub just took a swing at me.
Problem is, summons function very differently from other skills. The way things are for Necromancer and Druid RN is a bit borked.
@WelshRust
Calling yourself a casual does not mean I did said so. I was merely pointing out that your preferences at clicking action buttons with the mouse does not mean others should be knee capped to be brought down to your level. But yes, “you’re a great gamer in many other games, no really!”.
