Ever since VoH has been live I have experienced total crashes and error reports until two weeks ago when some one suggested using DDU and downgrading to 561.09 driver.
I had hassle free gaming until another instant expert said this was not true.
This morning I upgraded to the current driver 566.03. Started the game and it is instantly choppy and crashed.
Is there any Blizzard personnel who can give us the anser?
I have maintained for a while now that the latest drivers are not always the best drivers.
I’m probably on the oldest driver amongst you all. 551.31.
But I will not upgrade that unless I’m forced to. I mean Diablo IV is already mad at me for having that driver (it nags me in the options page with red lettering) but I ignore it, so long as the game runs well. Which it continues to do throughout all these changes.
So yeah. If the earlier driver is working, stay on it as long as you can.
561.09 works perfectly fine. If you have this experience don’t allow people to bait you into changing your drivers.
I’m running 560.94. I’ve had no issues with D4 other than the typical game bugs. No crashing, freezing, or other issues.
To be fair, I didn’t answer this question.
Mainly because I would be shocked if someone from Blizzard actually came in here and did.

I think there were only a few drivers between mine and that one that had issues. I know drivers back in April were fine, and I think that’s among them… Let me check.
No, yours was in August. Okay.
I’m actually downloading the 551.85 right now, not because I want to install it right now, but because that’s the OLDEST available driver. And its from March. I think I need to start keeping more of these offline, just in case. They apparently are only allowing about a 7-8 month version list of drivers or they capped the 40xx series to the latest card launch, which happens to be the 4080 Super, just for compatibility and simplicity.
