Who likes tempering so much we can play it for another month

Finally they made the loot so good now i get to temper it. I dont care if it bricks because it adds longevity to the grind. I have a whole month now left to finally get the good item to temper . I am excited because if it wasnt like this , id already have been 12/12 and had all the fun sooner. I like the rng and fun when things take longer and sometimes dont work right. Because its so much better than before! I just play more til i get what i want.

I stopped playing because of temper

It feels like less rng then before. Looking through bags of 100s of items searching for that 5/5 was aweful.

The new systems do add an extra lawyer of excitment and there is a lot more power in tempering. It just doesnt sit well with the D3 crowd but Im glad they already spoke about tempering limits. I do think they could tighten up the manuals tho to give a little more control on the RNG.

yea, honestly that was the biggest win for the campfire chat in my opinion. The addition of temper attempts per greater affix seems fair tho. I admit that i expected them to be more vague about the temper limits ^^

yea that for sure. I also assume they will just equalize all the manuals to have 4 options. Some temper manuals do feel a little “unfair” . Not a huge deal, but something that should be adjusted sometimes.

I don’t hate it. What could be improoved however, is that each manual should only have a maximum of 3-4 affixes. For example Druid has a shapeshifting manual, with both wolf and bear affixes, that could be separated to a wolf and a bear manual with 3-3 affixes. Also the ability to keep the affix if you just want to roll for a higher value. So you can atleast keep a desired affix even if it’s not maxrolled.

excitement for GAS? its the same generic affixes that are boring and lame, just a few % extra. The only thing i feel in this system is relief when i actually dont brick it. Happens sometimes.

Some ppl like making brick houses. :brick:

Only 1 out of 3 little piggies like to temper

But we know what happened to the other 2

We can all learn something from this

I would first need to find something worth tempering…

haha, I’m working on a new subdivision of affordable brick homes.

I got everything I wanted tempered. No worries. Sure, some items got bricked but in the trash bin they go. Just find 3-4 items that are about the same and go at it until one is tempered.

OK, sure, we won’t have 3-4 items with 3 GA on them to do this, but the game is for casuals anyways and the difficulty is pretty easy. I was able to finish all content in the game that I wanted done (all ladder bosses of all versions, Lilith, Pit 101+ and that’s all there is in this game) with less then awesome gear and all gear only had 1 GA on them.

So, while I don’t like Tempering, in terms of bricking items, it’s not a game breaker either. I’ll play S5. Tempering or not, I’ll get the job done and beat the game again

Forget the race to world first. First to fill their entire stash with bricks wins next season.

In all seriousness I like this better than before but I’m kinda getting bored of seeing life per sec on most drops.

Honestly i think enchanter not giving plus to skills and such is worse than temper now.

You sure do seems to have an issue with anyone who played D3.

Um… you mean forever right? I think you mean forever. They aren’t taking away Tempering, they might tweak it a little, but it’s here to stay buddy.

Also have to ask, are you one of those people who wants to reach the highest pit tier possible? If yes, cool, nothing wrong with that, figures why you would want 12/12 3 GA maxed gear within 5 seconds of hitting level 100. If not, feel free to join the majority who play for the fun of it, then move on when they’re bored.

Before S4 we were searching through a pile of yellow gear looking for 3/4 and changing the 4th stat through the occultist and finally enchanting with legendary affixes. 5/5 gear did not exist. This is part of what makes the new gear system that much more powerful.

Also making yellow items essentially just filler and placing all the emphasis on legendary items certainly made the equipment grind feel like less of a burden overall. We have gone from picking everything up to picking up significantly less. GA’s act as a pseudo loot filter once you are geared out so you start ignoring non GA legendary gear after a while.

As for my experience I had an easier time under the old system finding 3/4 gear, and doing the rest of the work at the occultist where it could cost me hundreds of millions to get that perfect piece of gear. The new system we can get 2/3 to start which happens often with GA gear where we need to get a different roll for the 3rd and the occultist plus try to hit good rolls at the blacksmith for affixes 4 and 5 before master working.

Tempering doesn’t feel good for sure and there’s definitely some improvements that need to be made but it’s so much better than before.

For example season 2 I played the entire season with the same 2h mace I got from a world boss when I was still leveling. Not because the mace was BiS but because all I got were crap drops the whole season.

This season I’ve been through about a dozen 2h maces either for upgrades or for switching spec. I’ve probably gotten about 5 full sets of gear to 12/12 and have 4 stash tabs full of GA gear to work on if needed. I play solo so all.of this is self farmed.

Sure I’ve bricked so many pieces of gear while doing all that but just that I’ve had so many viable pieces of gear when in previous season it was salvage after salvage with nothing to show for it makes this system miles beyond the old system.

Yes, but it makes more build diversity, so I like GAs . But I would like to increase the droprate a bit. I rarely see 3 GAs and if I do 2 of them are crap, like life per hit or life per sec.

As someone who has grinded a serious amount of hours this does not add to the longevity it ruins it. For me it completely stopped it. I wont continue looking for gear when ive had 5 items that could have been upgrade get bricked in 1 day 2 of which were 3ga items… I just want an upgrade man for real. I just wanted to have some fun Tempering says No. Why is it a bad thing someone gets good gear to push higher tiers of content? All these people that keep defending this mechanic have got to be employees that havent actually played the game cause this is trash.

Yall got served dog crap for so long that when they finally gave you some food out the trash you thought you moved on up like George and Weezie. This mechanic is straight trash it needs to have the limit removed. Its heavily weighted to fail.

Congrats! Literally everyone hates it but you! Maybe the game can survive with just you playing it?

Not at all. I just take issue with the game and what it did to the franchise. They moved it from an arpg to an arcade moble game. I cant argue with corporate greed for the times we live in. We do the exact same thing at the publicly traded company I work for.

Mind you even tho they said exactly what the game was going to be at launch they should have given D4 another year of development which I believe would have given us a very different unique experience.
