Seems to me its mostly for streamer so can showcase new builds every week.
But for casuals or ppl with lives, there just is 0 incentive to play this. Makes you wonder why they put effort in these systems.
At its core d4 is designed for super casuals, but then they also keep adding stuff thats only for the ultimate grinders such as AoZ and now gauntlet, where without all ur uber and the time to switch builds around with an armoury.,…
Leaderboards have always been meant for people who are competitive and can spend many hours within the game. It’s not meant for a casual player who has 6 wives and 15 kids who maybe has an hour to play every other week.
And this is a problem how? It’s catering to both sides of the spectrum. Yes we need more content in general, which will be coming, give it a year or two, maybe more.
They are for everyone. But not everyone will make it on the leaderboard. You can play get a score and try beat your own score. Repeat that enough and you may end up on the leaderboard.
Yeah it is the exact same thing. It isn’t an unforgiving experience like AOZ, but it is catered towards tryhards and no-lifers, who have all the ubers and have time to try out every single minmax meta to climb the ladder.
only streamer content so they have something to stream…what else will you showcase in d4? its boring af to watch so they have at least something for a few days
Leaderboards are meant for people who are grinding it non stop since yesterday perfecting and tailoring their build for higher and higher scores. It has always been a place for the extreme try hards !!! I don’t understand the infatuation as to why casuals think they deserve a place there ?
The cheating, RMTing, botting trash gamers, that’s who it’s for. The rest of us normal players have been left out in the cold now for 2 major events. AOZ and the Gauntlet was designed for a very small portion of the player population in this game. Which is absolutely moronic.
I play a bunch of other games (mmos are my main time sync) so I play D4 casually and am totally fine with them adding AoZ and the gauntlet for the hardcore. I know I will never see those and I am fine with that because on my mmos (like WoW for example) they have things for the hardcore and casual too. Which is how it should be.
Anything with a leaderboard aspect isn’t for casual playing… I feel like that is a given. You can always “self challenge” yourself but, for me, playing a NMD 74 content isn’t fun so I have no interest in even doing this casually
I’ll disagree here - I enjoyed AoZ and don’t come close to “no-life” D4. AoZ allowed me to push my build in s2 (Charged Bolt Sorc) as far as I could because the difficulty went ABOVE what existed. For me this is fun even if there was a leaderboard aspect I’d still do it as a self challenge for my build. Outside of Ubers there isn’t much for a character after the first 7 weeks or so of a season - especially as 925 rain from the sky this season at least.
It’d be very difficult to design “somethign for everyone!” and “challenge!” in the same content sweep. As above, I enjoyed AoZ although I wasn’t pushing tier 15, 20, or 25 because it was a challenge. In my experience ARPGs are what you make of them based on your own goals. For 95% of us the designed “end point” isn’t really “worth it” which is fine… I use to play daily for 4+ hours almost two decades ago so I get it for that population as well.
One nice thing for “us regular people” for ARPGs is that with the season mechanics all these games have… you finish a season and then play a different game and come back which is NICE imho.
Those that have exploited for all the Ubers each season, really no point to try to compete without Ubers. Plus it’s not really that fun to be fair, it’s all about grabbing shrines…
Profiles hidden
No proper group comps.
Mobs density isn’t even close to how it was in D3
The new ladder system is a joke at best
Honestly copy pasting GRs would of been better
Where’s my ability to chain pull mobs and setup comp blast
D4 Devs need more then itemization at this point to save them this game is becoming more n more single player
