Whispers of the Dead: Veteran - "Choose your reward" cannot progress

I came to the point in the “Whispers of the Dead” questline where I was to do a nightmare dungeon. I completed said dungeon, but teleported out before selecting a glyph upgrade, and now I cannot progress the questline at all. I did another nightmare dungeon, I did another round of tree of whispers grim favors, nothing is progressing it.

This exact thing has happened to me as well. Was in a friends world, completed a nightmare dungeon for the first time DID do the glyph upgrade, came back to my world and was not able to turn in quest. did another nightmare dungeon solo, did another grim favor quest was able to turn that in, restarted my entire game, no change to the Veteran questline. quest log says it’s complete not sure what else to do other than wait for a fix.

This has now happened to me. I completed the nightmare dungeon, I leveled my glyph, and left the dungeon to turn it in. I cannot turn anything in and it doesn’t even have the marker on the tree. I’m stuck on this questline now.

Set your world Tier to 2 then go talk to the tree to turn in the quest.

Wow I’m so glad I came back to check this - that did the trick! No way I would have figured that out myself, if anything they should make this a LOT clearer. Thanks!

Adding to this as an update that can hopefully help devs fix the bug:
I’m having the same issue completing/progressing the quest. I received, and finished, the first part of the quest in WT2 which allowed me to talk to the tree, select a reward, and I was able to open the reward. Now my quest is still stuck at the “Choose Your Reward” portion of the quest. . . which is what I just finished. I’ve tried logging out/in, restarting the game, loading WT1 then returning to WT2 and none have progressed the quest.

Update: Apparently you can get rewards while in WT1 as well; I returned to the tree in WT1 and it allowed me to complete the quest. If you’re having this problem, try both world tiers to complete the quest.

Devs, please update the quests to indicate that they must be completed in the correct world tier so people aren’t stuck looking for an answer online to something that should be more easily discovered in game.
