The list goes something like: Inner Flames, Permafrost, Icy Touch, Hoarfrost, Elemental Synergies, and Devouring Blaze and Soulfire for pyromancy builds.
It’s my understanding that the extra damage values provided by all the sorc passives is multiplicative so does that mean they’re all about equal assuming you can readily meet their criteria?
For example, Inner Flames and Permafrost both provide 6% increased damage per skill point, the former requiring you to be Healthy and the latter to have a Frost skill on your bar. Am I correct in thinking they’re equal in strength and that if I get one or the other via enchanting it’s basically the same DPS increase?
Also are they always superior in all circumstances or are certain other possible affixes, like % intelligence for example, better?
Right now I have an amulet with a max regular % to int roll, a regular Permafrost roll, and a greater Icy Touch roll. I am guessing I should be using that over an amulet with a max % to int roll, a regular crit chance roll and a greater CDR roll?
Some builds depend more on a few passives than others. LS gets A LOT of damage from Primordial Binding, so a GA on Primordial binding might be worth over a GA on %int. Now if we’re talking fireball, Permafrost adds the most damage but IMO still a GA on %int is better than on Permafrost. Also depends on how important CDR is on your build - are you getting CDR for all your skills or to reach a certain breakpoint for ultimate cd, for example. Do remember that Shaco exists and tends to fulfill all CDR needs in most builds (specially paired with rakanoth’s)
Yes 6% should be 6% so whatever your build can proc easier is the one I would choose. …
You may not always be healthy for example.
As for %int you dont see the diff until later when you have a LOT of int already.
Keep note:
Lets say you have 1000 int normally.
So an amulet with 10% int is only 100+ int.
This can normally and easily roll already.
However if you had 2000 int this would give you 200+ int…
Thats equivalent to a GA roll on int
(Now if ya had 2000 int plus a GA on %int that would be 400+ in)
Dont forget int increases “all resistances” from having more int as well so that helps fill the gap there as well.
It also increases your skill dmg since its a sorcs main stat.
Another note:
100ish int is equivalent to about a 25-30% dmg roll
Thats nice and all but you get a passive that makes you do multiplicative (x) dmg rather than additive (+) dmg is way better.
Depending on your build i try to look for 2 passives that sync very well together.
Like if your using frost skills then i would go for Hoarafrost and Icy Touch type thing.
I petsonally love my congerations and use all of them. So for me Prymordial is the best hands down… i think its like 10x dmg per summon (up to 10 summons) so 100x dmg easily
… plus other bonuses (x) on passive as well
No other passive can top that…
Plus now they fixed max at 10 rather than 30 summons im not forced to use Winterglass and can now actually utilize a leg amulet with 2 passives and my own aspect (this 50% aspect increase is great)… so its better than winterglass now
Plus this season you get Giant summons with the “growth” witchpower that makes congerations just insane to play haha.
You want on every amulett
Int %
for the passives it depends.
For almost all builds you want any of this passives.
Inner Flames
Permafrost
Glass Canon (least favourable, cause you take more damage.) Also worse then you use Raiment Chest cause it allready has some +GA on Gear.
For Summon builds (Lightning Spear, Hydra, etc)
You want Primordial Binding + any of the above.
And only on a Summon Build you want to tripple crit Primiordial Binding
For burning Builds
You get one more great option with Endless Pyre, but it doesn’t matter really.
For Pyromancy Crit Damage Builds
You want Devouring Blaze with 3 times masterworking crit.
For all other buidls it doesn’t really matter what you crit on you amulett. If you crit 3 times one affix or crit Int% + one time every other passive. Except you have one of the 3 above + Icy touch, then you won’t crit Icy Touch at all.
With Conjurations Mastery gone it’s much easier to get a good amu now.
Yeah this is what I figured out myself, I wish I had an amulet like that, lol.
Oh and I should have mentioned I am playing a Meteor build. It feels incredibly smooth to play now that Inferno can be spammed and you can have 100% uptime on all of its bonuses (a pull, permanent vulnerability, and 50% damage increase) plus the massive buff it gives to Meteorites with the Armageddon Aspect.
I’d love to get an amulet with int, CDR, and Devouring Blaze/Inner Flames/Permafrost but alas no luck, lol.
Yes, they’re numerically the two best passives and they have the advantage for working for all builds. If you’re running a fire build Devouring Blaze is also really good. The third slot should go to intelligence % unless you need something for your build, like CDR.
That said, getting an amulet with all of these rolls, let alone GR, is incredibly unlikely given the insane RNG that amulets have due to the highly diluted affix pool. It’s also certainly not necessary to tackle any content and should be viewed as the height of min-maxxing. Or to quote Blizzard consider it an “aspirational goal,” lol.
Isn’t Lightning spear a crit build, does Endless Pyre help you at all?
Best for that build would probably be Primordial Binding (20% per rank) combined with any of the 6% per ranks passive that you can reliably keep active.
Glass cannon is always active but has a downside.
Inner Flames and Permafrost are easy to maintain.
Lets be honest here unless your playing D4 as a full time job getting any amulet with 2 relevant passives is probably as much as most of us are ever going to get.
Leave the dreams of the perfect double passive amulet to the streamers.
