I agree that most of the cosmetic skins are horrible. Too dark and creepy for my taste. Also the designs are just not good enough. Kudos to the 3D modellers though, they really are top notch, but too bad that most of the art concepts are terrible.
I mostly agree with your picks plus a few others here and there. For example, I also like Vitreous Titan for the sorcerer and the Profaned Knight for the barbarian. They both look awesome. The Mother’s Protection sets for barbarian and necromancer were also quite cool, but I haven’t seen those in the shop since the end of season 1.
All other sets are just not good enough for their price, or at all. Quite honestly I wouldn’t wear them even if they were free. I hate those that look too gory and dark (Tongue Ripper… really?). I also don’t understand why some sets have a helmet or mask that completely covers the eyes as if your character was blind. And why do we have not one but 3 sets for barbarians that have a crown in place of a helmet? Btw, one of those sets (Hired Muscle) makes your barb look like a pimp.
And don’t get me started on backpacks… those are both ugly and silly, why would someone fight demons while carrying one of those hideous and cumbersome things on their back?? The only backpacks that are passable are those with pets, especially if they come with some nice emote of the pet interacting with your character. They are still way overpriced though, and to be fair, they feel out of place in this game, especially the teddy bear, way too cute.
Horses and their armors also follow a similar trend as character armor. Very dark and gory most of them (e.g. Vulgar Tongues, yuck!). Most horses look like they are undead, and then you have something that looks totally absurd and out of place in this game, Little Lady, the unicorn costume with flowers all over… seriously??
We need more horses in between these extremes. We do have a few, but even those are kind of meh. The horse armors that look like a knight s’ steed harness look ok, but they wear too much thick cloth that looks like curtains. Then we have the merchant horse, I thought our characters are warriors and assassins, not merchants…
I am not sure who comes up with these poor ideas for cosmetics, but they really need to give it some more thought.
