Which intern forgot the add the "Teleport to Player" Feature?

D3: have a friend in your party you want to travel to quickly. Right click on their icon, select “Teleport to player”. BOOM! You’re there next to them.

D4: Teleport to town. Wait for loading screen. In town. Click on their open portal to teleport to where they are on the map. Wait for loading screen. Finally you get to them.

How do you not add such a simple convenience to your newest sequel? Clowns…

The game uses a totally different system than D3 did. D3 had private games that you’d join that had a limit on players in it, this is more like an MMO where it’s one giant world with different layered instances in it with each player at different phases of the various story quests.

I’m sure if they COULD have made it just as easy as they did in D3 they would have, but for whatever reason they have it set so that you can only teleport to people from the major towns.

Go to a main city hub like Kyovashad and there will be portals at the city waypoint to teleport you to your party member.

Why do we need to load the city into memory, which could take a couple of seconds, just to spend 1 second in town to click our party members portal? My PC loads fast but I have a friend who’s PC loads slowly. Just make the teleport to player take 1 or 2 more seconds to channel. That would add a lot of convenience.

probably bob, bob was in charge of world chat, group making and teleport to player systems.

Yeah, it’s an odd design choice when the only difference is the extra steps of having to load into the zones main town to run 10 feet into a purple portal and another load screen.

If you’re able to do it through a couple load screens you might as well enable the QoL feature of just being able to do it from anywhere and cut out the middleman.

They can add teleporting to player. What I heard and this might just be a rumor, there was a concern that teleporting straight to a player would give co-op an even greater advantage over solo players. But co-op is advantageous either way. I think if this is the reasoning then just make the channeling take 2 seconds longer or something.

no! they added that huge world you need to explore

It really doesn’t make any sense to not have this feature. It doesn’t affect anyone’s immersion or world building or anything like that anymore than casting TP first and then clicking on another portal. You can already teleport to another player, so the advantage of porting to someone is there regardless, it just a question of one load screen vs. two.

I honestly think I vaguely remember it even being an option in closed beta… but maybe I’m imagining it. Seems odd that they would have removed it.
