Where's the gear?

Where’s the gear? Like…actual gear. I’m T3…so maybe all I’m getting are blue’s and yellow’s and they’re auto-decon’d? All I know is that it’s pretty rare to see a legendary just running around the world (searching for the missed side missions). I see one once in a while from an event chest, but almost never from mobs/elites. This usual?

In the outter world your only going to mostly get gear doing helltides or the new seasonal event which helps with whispers Everytime. If you want gear you need to park your character on bosses especially Belial for uniques and do infernal and pits for Legendaries. Outter world farming is garbage

Thanks. I was honestly just curious…I got a lotta mats though

They spent all this time making the outter world and making it MMO light but they’ve added multiple things to trivialize even walking out there like teleporting to NMs and Bosses which should have been a thing to begin with. World bosses are useless and drop nothing for their long timers, legions were nerfed and useless lol and side quests are also useless lol. They also severely nerfed Maiden to force people out of helltides then removed legendaries from bosses when they realized people just now move to bosses. It sometimes feels like these developers don’t play their own game

The day you will find a unique x-bow in DIV is the day we can actually begin talking about this game having gear :see_no_evil:

We’ve traded in the classic “kill monsters, monsters drop loot” which has been the core of Diablo since forever, in exchange for Loot Boxes. Everything is Loot Boxes now.

I 100% feel this. Maybe that’s what I really liked about S7: Monsters actually dropped stuff in the overworld.

Loot is tied behind the activities, not the enemies you kill in the open world. Sure you’ll get trickles of loot here or there, but the majority of your loot comes from chests of various activities. Even other games within the genre have taken this route.

Now it may fall more often from a giant boss in the other games, but that’s no different then fighting a boss here and opening their chest.

What games in the genre have moved this direction?

Poe 2, LE, not sure about TQ2 yet. Majority of your loot in those games is from the big bosses and events, not the mobs you’re killing around the areas you go to. You’ll get some, but not a lot.

LE has a lot of overworld loot drops.

Are we talking about targeted loot? Or just general loot?

LE has trickles of trash loot, yes I agree with you there. You might find one upgrade here or there going through the campaign from just randomly running around. Bosses give more of course. Once you’re done with that though, the majority will come from the events themselves.

Okay, yes, I can agree with that. I am referring to even just general loot and between the two the journey is way more difficult in D4. If D4 still ran on a 1-100 system with loot scaling all the way up it would be objectively more difficult because trash/general loot is the adaptive portion of the game used to climb the heights.

Keep killing stuff chief……RNG does the rest.

That and a healthy dose of good ol fashioned luck.

Hmmm. The last pit I did at lvl 44, I got 3 no star legendaries, and 100 obels. It’s a rare day I see 1, 2, or 3 star anything at this point.

It’s so weird that I get legendary loot items from overworld mobs quite frequently.

I mean, I might as well leave them on the ground to rot, just like the blues & yellows, but I do get them. It’s possible that you don’t see them in T3 tho … but, seriously, why would you want to? Sheesh, if they’re all scrap in T2, I’m guessing they’re definitely going to be in T3.

I see some legendaries…but all normal…no 1,2,3 stars much in T3. Just did another 44 pit…just a handful of legendaries and the 100 obels. I have 2 items in one build that I’d like to at least get a 1 star, but eh…at this point I’m not sure it matters that much.

:roll_eyes:Yeah I’ve seen all too many people saying D4 is the BEST IN THE

Diablo Series To Date on graphics alone, And saying that anyone saying

different is a Troll and flagging them as such🤦

Personally in many ways I don’t see Diablo 4 as better than Diablo 1

much less up to Diablo 2’s level.

First of all is the Itemization & Skills both of which are lacking greatly.

Then comes the gameplay again & again I’ve seen critics of Diablo 2

claiming all you did in Diablo 2 was make repeated

Andy, Mephisto, Diablo, Baal runs for gear & Exp

whereas in Diablo 4 you make various boss and dungeon runs often

getting one shotted, I don’t know about the Exp but the gear? :person_facepalming:

Oh and what I said about as good as Diablo 1 I wasn’t talking about the

itemization or skills or graphics, I was talking about fun for which

people are still going back for, And the same goes for Diablo 2 in which

you can not only have fun you can also get gear I wish you could say the

same for Diablo 4. The other thing you don’t have to deal with in

Diablo 2 & Diablo 1 is the Fenris Virtual Memory Bug which to all reports

has been an issue for at least a year and some are saying since day one.

The only thing I can say that MAYBE Diablo 4 Excels at is graphics MAYBE

:unamused:

Most of the Ancestrals and ancestral uniques I got this season came from whisper caches, the obol vendor, reputation caches, and helltide chests.

I finally got an ancestral Scoundrel’s Leather from Andariel after about running Duriel about 50 times and Andariel like 50 times.
