I ran nightmare dungeons for 2 hours with the elixir on and I didn’t find a single one. I’m on a fast build too (Dance of Knives Rogue) so they only take a couple of minutes. What the hell?

they are pretty rare. i myself only found one in a pit.

yea, gold is really not an issue. Earlier i enchanted my smexy amulet, you know the one with ga on + tides of blood, so it would also have coalesced blood. I got it, but it cost me 300m. 2 hours later im back at 300 m lol.

I lost count on NMD and Pits that ive run with Draught of Whispers and I have yet to see a Forgotten Altar…the spawn rate must be ridiculously low. I also have only had one Head drop…seems like they need to tune a few things. Also only whispers in the blue count towards the rep, reg whispers turned into the Tree dont count, kinda silly
Think I’m up to paragon 180 something and only have seen 2 altars. Both were in pits. They were either back to back or really close together also. None before or after.
I thought maybe higher difficulty would increase the chances but both of those were either t3 or t4 level pits and I’ve tried up to level 100 so far with no other sightings. All my equipped glyphs are level 45.
I’m not sure if the potions really do anything but I’ve been using them anyway.
I only saw them in NMD in torment 1 and were quite common. As soon as I went up I stopped seeing them.
Most of the altars were hard to see, and only one (for me) activated and provided me a (useless) witch power.
As far as I remember correctly, the UI to switch difficulties mentions the chance for altars to appear and it’s 1% per Torment tier, so from 1% on Torment I to 4% on Torment IV. Or something like that…

This is dumb tbh 20 characters…
The bigger problem is the spawn location. Randomly inside a dungeon is annoying because you are forced to clear every one completly. They should spawn on a fixed position like infront of the boss room.

I gave up on trying to get an altar to spawn and the head drop rate is stupid low as well. I am about done with the season due to progression gated so hard by horrible spawn/drop rates of Altars and heads. Im done until they patch/hotfix it.

Altars were fine for me, I’m up to 3 now ,just missing a power I don’t care about. Heads though… Hardly any yet, I think 3 as well, at paragon 200 and a few whispers away from maxed seasonal track.
I’ve gotten to the point where in my pit runs, I will kill mobs in the first half and in the second half I run all the way to the end looking for the altar then work my way back to front killing mobs again. I don’t know if in pit runs that the alter disappears once you reach 100% to open the boss portal. I know the shrines disappear does. I have only seen 2 so far this season and they were in the second half.
I have not seen any altars this season in any other dungeon type besides pits.
it’s as rare as the season 3 evernight and genesis stones, with the fugitive head being the new stygian stone.

I thought I had been as well. Just found my first one and it was pretty obvious; large, lit up, and a big icon on the minimap a screen or so away.
