What you do with my boy blizzar?
I bet neyrelle is going to seek him out
Donan mentions that Tyreal felt there was a great evil stirring and left.
So it is very likely he is Expansion 1
Honestly the timeline in the game feels a little funky, and I’m not really sure what parts of the plot of D3 carried over and what don’t.
Cain is the last of the Horadrim, okay he dies Tyrael then recruited more, more Horadrim. This means every Horadrim is newly minted after D3 act 4. The ones you encounter in D4 feel like they’ve been at it a long time, but some also feel like the know Cain so it can’t have been that long? I don’t know I know I shouldn’t be thinking about it this hard.
D4 is only 50 years after D3
Here is the timeline tweet
Gates of heaven are closed. So im pretty sure the damn angels are way too busy playing with themselves lol
Glad I’m not alone in being confused. I almost feel like D4 is the stuff that was originally planned for D3, especially when I see my character climb and jump, and that’s why there’s little acknowledgement of D3 events, because, for starters, Malthael wiped out most of humanity, right? Shouldn’t that be something that greatly affected the entire world? How did they rebuild Caldeum in 50 years, for instance, if most of the planet died and there were few Horadrim around that could use building magic like Donan? How’s a dude that was traveling with Cain when they were young even still alive? I have so many questions…
Lorath was actually the one who was ordered by Tyrael to flee when Malthael stole the black stone. And he was the one you interacted with in Reaper of souls expansion.
Is that true? That would fit my theory that he’s a prime or even Diablo himself if it corrupted him somehow.
I’m kinda sad that they didn’t continue the story of D3 and Tyrael.
Last info we got about him was that he went back to heaven after revitalizing the Horadrim in Sanctuary. And took the place of Wisdome. Nothing more. He is probably still there.
All of it. All of d3 is canon.
He was yes.
Yes. He recruited a bunch but most of them except Lorath were killed by Malthael. Lorath was allowed to live to deliver the message. Lorath was a major npc in d3: reaper of souls. He may have known cain but we never saw them together.
Yes. In between act 4 and 5.
D3 was 50 years before d4.
The horadrim we get to know are old. Lorath being the oldest, than donan, then elias.
Should look up book of lorath on youtube.
It’s the locations that get me. We have Caldeum, so where is Lut Gholein? Did I miss it?
I kept looking for a beautiful oasis in that area lol
Between Act 4 and 5 of Diablo 3 the Black Soulstone was kept in Heaven slowly corrupting it. Tyrael (who got bullied by other Angels for being Mortal) noticed the Corruption but no one listened to him. He then stole the Black Soulstone to hide it on Sanctuary. He founded a new Horadrim Order and then Malthael came and wiped most of them out and stole the Black Soulstone. Tyrael since then stayed in Sanctuary and worked with Lorath, Donan and Elias on restoring the Horadrim Order before running away feeling a “great evil Stirring”.
He wiped out roughly ~50% of humanity. Which is significant but if you recall irl after the black plague ending in europe there was a MASSIVE baby boom.
Humans tend to bounce back.
They attempted to rebuild the order but after Elias left they just went their seperate ways.
I am not entirely convinced humans can die of old age in diablo. We have no known instance of this happening. Cain was ~120 and didn’t die of old age. D2 was 70 years ago. If that guy from d2 was 20-30 during the campaign he would’ve been 90-100 in d4. Old but still younger than cain was when he died.
50 years isn’t a long enough time for me to accept the citizens of Sanctuary acting like Malthael, Belial, Asmodan, etc. running amok is ancient history. I mean, we’re talking about people that were children then being around 60 years old, give or take, yet all the people discuss angels and demons, the supernatural, as if they’re ancient myths.
They should’ve made it 100 years or more. Then I’d have an easier time believing it, but I guess they wouldn’t have been able to use characters like Lorath and Donan…
For $39.99 in about 6 months you will find out.
Lut Golein is in the western continent. Then Meshif brought you to Kurast, which is in the eastern continent.
D4 entirely takes place in eastern continent - so LG isnt where we are geographically.
Im still a bit Salty about what became of Meshif lol.
At least his end didn’t come from butterflies.
