Where did the Dark Citadel skins go?

I have four of the five pieces of each set (missing both chest pieces) and I run DC over and over and I’m not getting any skin drops (not even duplicates). Did something change? I know they are rare but I’ve gotten more mystic drops (three) in the last two weeks than I have DC skins (zero).

Just rare. My last skin too weeks of runs to drop.

I bet they coded it badly so that drops can still roll duplicates… and if it rolls a duplicate then nothing drops… so the more you get, the lower chance you have of finding any cosmetics.

i too have all the items of both sets minus the chest for each. very annoying for sure.

The Cosmetic drop rates are lower than Mythic drop rates. Blizzard wants everything to be as much of a mind numbing chore as possible.

I gave up on it and the game. I hate DC so much.

If I got, say, the full set for the class I am on, I probably would have forced myself to do it once on my spiritborn and maybe once on my necro. And that is assuming I even thought the sets were good.

I am definitely not going to grind in a party with random people for weeks or more. One piece at a time? Gtfo!

Glad I found out about this so I know to just ignore it. If the future of this game is co-op only content my days are numbered. That is the entire reason I finally left wow I just don’t have any urge to play a game that makes me a second class citizen for not liking to socialize online. I thought this game backed me up on that but apparently not.

So… Dark Citadel smashing success then?

I keed, I keed. I have no opinion either way, I just read a lot of DC salt since week 2.

I dont believe you can get duplicate drops. Just like the rest of the content its unrewarding. They want you running it 3000+ times. I ran it a bunch. Never got anything more than the guaranteed cosmetic drops. Stopped going. Im not playing this treadmill.

I think this issue goes Beyond Dark Citadel. I haven’t been getting any cosmetics from the tree of whispers nor helltides. Blizzard can please do something about this?

D2 was quite the treadmill (hell baal × infinity) but I always felt that was the weakest link in the series. It is extremely disturbing that 20+ years later they still think “farm the exact same content minimum thousands of times” is in any way called for, quality, or necessary.

I have done every torment activity several times and ngl knowing it’ll just be more of the same from here on out only maybe number goes up is incredibly disappointing.

In b4 “arpgs are not for you.” I am well aware that at this point that could very well be the case.

Fake news (until I see the spreadsheet)… multiple bosses & other champion mobs were worth farming.

D2 is the reason I still have to fight off the urge to stop & kill elite packs in D4… because in one of them it’s worth it, in the other they’re puuuuuure trash.

Playing a different title rn that remembers the value of non-boss elites. The feeling’s back, boys!

It’s a grind, took me 100k coins (timewise) Farm only the 1st boss (double ones) from zagraels dungeon. Eventually that one final piece will drop.

The difference is you never went even a single day without farming something useful, whether it be for rolling lower cost runewords for use or trade, finding bases for trade, magics and supplies for real item crafting, gg roll magics or rares to keep or trade, or higher tier gear to keep or trade. The only people who ever did were the ones that thought only “uniques and high runes” were good items. And that was just never true, they just didn’t know any better.

In D4 you can quite literally go days, weeks, months even without dropping a single useful or even trade-able piece of loot. And now Cosmetic Drop Rates are just as bad.

One experience is not the average. I’ve done nothing but Citadel for awhile now specifically grinding transmogs. I’ve dropped a handful of weapons and only the Greater Helm, nothing else. This much grind for lesser quality transmogs is wildly unbalanced and an insult to the player.

I don’t mind farming bosses but I just wish they would drastically reduce boss mats needed. Some of them are painful to get. Hi Varshan.

Distilled Fear has the lowest drop rate by far. I always have multiple stacks of the rest and only one stack of fear. Probably because NMD are no longer rewarding so I don’t do them as much. And also because 2 fear for a NMD T4 run seems low. Maybe if it was a full 6 like when mats drop anywhere else.

That may very well be true, but my experience with trading can be summed up thusly. I wanted a mavinas chest, which was entirely obsolete by that point so I wanted it for s&g purposes only. I had pages of stuff to trade. He says I want tal rashas and I say I don’t have it. Wouldn’t have done it regardless. He says, and I quote, "the one you are wearing. " saw my golden aura I guess.

I got insulted and told him I could just buy it for 5 bucks. He says, “wHy WoUlD yOu SpEnD mOnEy On A gAmE?”

And I left. Trading never got better. Ruin your build for a mid piece gtfo. . .

I just wish my characters hadn’t decayed and I could have ported them to d2r. Least I got hero editor.

See I traded on jsp, not in game. Unless I needed a quick, simple trade and was going to be afk for a bit anyway.

Three more weeks of running DC and still no chest piece skins. These should have just been put on the vendor so people could buy them with the DC coins. You’d still have to play DC to farm the coins.
