Diablo 4 is getting better with each update, and I’m curious if anyone knows if the upcoming expansion will include SET items? Has there been any official announcement or leak about this feature? It would be great to have SET items in the game, as they could add a lot of depth and variety to character builds. If anyone has any information or insights, please share!

We might get small sets of 2 or 3 items. Weapon sets would work. We have less item slots in D4. No 6 bangers are comin.

They are probably still iterating on the current itemization before adding more new stuff. That’s what they said the focus of this season is.
Set items are back in D3 where they should stay. Just say no to sets!

I expect them. I expect trading was a test thing. Just like d3 they going to move on from trading and sets and everyhing you actually use will no longer be tradable. Because if they planned on keeping trading there would be some kind of way to actually trade in the game.
Power creep is here. Sets wont compete with tempering. They made most uniques obsolete. Sets are more for gamerdads who want to win but can only play a couple hours a day. Like it or not that’s 70% of the playerbase.

Well, yes power creep will make the older content trival at the least. I’m on the fence with it personally.

Sets are here they just named them aspects.
I like how it is now but you need a PhD to craft everything right. Then a treasure vault full of gold to temper and masterwork to 12. Sets let ppl blast out the gate.
Please please please no Sets.
More gear slots? Yes
The ability to equip more Aspects? Yes
But Sets? please don’t. They take all the creativity out of builds and feel mandatory.

Sets arent even the most powerful build in D3 anymore. The meta is legacy of dreams no set bonus gem. LoD necro is #1. With tempering here it would be the same.
It’s bad enough that they enforce specific builds with their crappy balancing and bad math. I’d rather they not double down on that build diversity strangulation with sets that tell you exactly what to play.

My theory for why sets don’t exist is that they are afraid they would hurt cosmetics sales.
A set typically has to have a theme to it and if they make cool looking armor sets that actually signify what you are wearing they would be providing players with themed cosmetics for free instead of charging them $20-30 for a look. Same reason why the uniques actually often don’t have unique models/looks for most of them.
My bet is if sets ever show up they will be only an item or two and jewelry slots not full on unique armor looks.

I agree and set items lean every class toward one build, we need more balancing not less imo
